Boateng: October Player Of The Month

Kevin-Prince Boateng has been named Pompey's Player of the Month for October.

It's the second award in succession for Boateng from the Blues' Central Branch Supporters' Club, as the midfielder also picked up the September prize.

The 22-year-old was an ever-present for Pompey in their Barclays Premier League matches throughout the autumn month.

With a number of consistently high-performances, he played a key-role in the side's first league win of the season against Wolves, as well as the Blues' 4-0 victory over Wigan at Fratton Park.

He also was on the scoresheet for Pompey, when he scored against his former club Tottenham.

He will be presented with the award before Blues' next home game, Manchester United on November 28.

Can't argue with that, gone off the boil a little in last two games, but broken toe might well be the reason!

Well, he's certainly proved himself in my eyes, even if he has gone off the boil a bit as Paul says. He's certainly been behind most midfield creative moves...Glad we've got him. Player of the month...why not!

Yep, Boateng was good. Equally as good as Kaboul & Yebda. Yebda has impressed me more than I thought he would. A midfield Benjani. (Workrate I mean). Please Paultsmouth, Corny or Pompeyrug, explain the attraction with Mokoena? Is it a clause in his contract or what? He is WOEFUL! Gotta mention again about Utaka and the 6 game thing I spoke about in the Herminator link. You gotta give him a run, Vandenborre, Piquionne, Dindane to prove it.

Explain the attraction with Mokoena?....I really wish I could veccccio. It totally exasperates me him getting a starting place, let alone having the captains armband. Mind you, the whole business of his Blackburn transfer still bemuses me. He was saying that he'd be playing for Pompey before the summer transfer window opened...if I remember correctly. Even giving interviews before anything was announced....does anybody remember? Does all seem a bit odd I must admit.

boateng was our stand out player, but i dont think he has gone of the boil, more that the rest of the team are stepping up.
