McCarthy? Lets wait and see eh...

'Benni McCarthy has been 'linked' but lets see what January brings', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I do agree with to be honest...

Yep, we all know that Benni McCarthy has been linked with us and we all also know that he, and his brother, has even talked up the chances of this happening - or at least being something he would 'like', but a lot can happen between now and the transfer window reopening!

That is putting aside the thoughts the we do STILL have this transfer embargo hanging over us, so until this is lifted - which was 'going to be sorted' by the end of the week, what, at least 2-weeks back, we cannot do anything transfer wise...

Then we have to stump up a fee, which is 'said' to be around £3.5m - maybe not a fortune but still a 'fair amount' by our recent standards, then we have wages, and I doubt he will come cheap.

In all honesty, despite a somewhat 'shady history' when it comes to 'rocking the boat' I think I would welcome the guy as he has a wealth of experience and without a doubt quality, and best of all he knows where the goal is.

But, lets just get through the next couple of months first and see where we are and what our situation is - although things are 'far too quiet' at the moment, and I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing...

  • What the poll asked - Benni McCarthy is 'happy' to be linked with us - would you like him here?

  • How you voted - Maybe, lets see what January brings 48%, Yep, he is a goalscorer 41%, Nope, he can be a trouble maker 11%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

Ah VP is back!! Benni is 32 TODAY!! £3.5m is totally unrealistic - no thanks.

What do we hope for from the rest of the season?

There seems to be a lot of unhappiness around, despite a pretty decent season in my opinion. Well, certainly our best season in a long while.
