Fancy a pint in Blackburn?

Fancy a pint in Blackburn?

If you are looking for somewhere to drink ahead of, or even after the Blackburn game, this weekend then here are a couple of tried and tested watering holes that I would suggest...

Name: The Fernhurst Hotel
Address: 466 Bolton Road, Blackburn, BB2 4JP.

This one we used this season (08/09), briefly for a quick pint prior to the game. A little bit pricier than some areas of Blackburn but pretty packed with Pompey fans. Parking available.

Its about 5 mins walk, max, to Ewood Park - here are directions...

Walking directions to Blackburn Rovers Football Club
0.2 mi - about 4 mins

The Fernhurst Hotel

1. Head northwest on A666/Bolton Rd toward Stewart St 0.2 mi
2. Turn right at Tweed St 102 ft

Blackburn Rovers Football Club
Ewood Park, Nuttall St, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2 4JF.

Name: The Golden Cup
Address: 610 Blackburn Rd, Darwen, Lancashire, BB3 0AJ.

This one we used by Ken a couple of times. Good friendly pub, mixed fans and good prices - a little further from the ground but well worth it, and not exactly a million miles away either! Parking around too.

Its about 20 mins walk to Ewood Park - here are directions...

Walking directions to Blackburn Rovers Football Club
1.1 mi - about 21 mins

Continue to follow A666 1.1 mi

As I say the drinks are a little more 'pricy' in The Fernhurst as you are literally minutes from the ground, but this is where most Pompey fans gathered before the game last year, sadly I cannot make it either pub or even to the game time round, which is a pain...

Fenhurst is the main away pub guys, plus you only have to turn left out of the pubs main grounds and walk 3/4 minutes and you are there!

Video - Pompey 1-1 Morecambe

Had Pompey managed to hold onto the lead against Morecambe - who equalised late on in this 1-1 draw - the Blues would have moved above Carlisle into an automatic promotion spot.
