Court date set for Storrie

A date has been set for Peter Storrie to appear before a City of Westminster magistrate in answer to his charge of tax evasion - this will take place on 16th November, which is during the next international break.

As we all know Storrie was charged last month over an alledged payment in relation to the transfer involving Amdy Fay to Pompey in 2003, a payment that is 'claimed' to have been made in such a way a to avoid tax and nation insurance payments being made.

He has maintained his innocence and will 'defend the allegations in the strongest possible terms' with him 'confident that he will be exonerated.'

Could be a vacancy coming up this month then......?

My knowledge of the law suggests the case will be heard in the Crown Court and this is just a formal appearance.

The magistrate is likely to remand Storrie on bail with a date for an appearance at the Crown Court. The city police don't have much of a reputation for corruption prosecutions; more away wins than home would be fair, but they have been after him since his west ham days. The Customs tend to do better as their requirement of proof tends to be lower based on the fact that your guilty as everything is down for you to provide and not them to chase. I guess that's why the police handed the case over; could be the storrie has a sticky end.

hmm, well considering the guy was on honey moon at the time i really don't see how they've got any evidence against him at all, but we'll see and it'll be a sad day indeed if he does get found guility

Presumably whoever made the transfer to the agent did so on the orders of PS.

Can't believe Redknapp is clean with all of this.
