Lets see what PH and AG can do together!

Lets see what PH and AG can do together!

'Paul Hart should be given a chance to work alongside Avram Grant to see what they can do', not my vote, yours - although these findings from tracyc's poll are thoughts that I do agree with to be honest...

I retain the same thinking as always really, Hart is doing the best that he can with the tools he is given to work with - tactically he is being found out a bit though, this is where we HOPE that Grant comes into the equation and his tactical ability is slightly better and he will actually help him do this, with this also being something Hart will allow him to do?

Both men are vastly experienced so lets put this combined experience to the test and see what they can do when they put their heads together.

I just feel that Hart will, and I guess quite rightly so, feel very threatened by Grant's arrival so in many ways is in a no win situation - if he does not seek and heed his advice and things do not pick up it is he that will ultimately pay the price. If he does and things turn around then this will see Grant pick up all the plaudits entirely, which would probably be unfair!

All in all we just have to hope that they can work something between them, with so many academy staff cut loose recently I would hate to think that Grant is being paid to 'sit in the stand' to all intend and purpose...

When all is said and done though I still cannot quite grasp the point in getting rid of Hart, or what this would achieve? That said results would eventually dictate this, but I still hope that it will not come down to this but Hart will need to be a touch bolder with his tactics in the weeks ahead.

  • What the poll asked - Paul Hart:

  • How you voted - Should be given a chance to work with Avram Grant 53%, Has to go NOW 26%, Should be given till Christmas to improve 15%, Is the right man for the job and should stay ;-) 6%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

As you say rug PH is in a no-win situation. What will be the outcome if PH does take AGs advice and things still don't pick up? Will PH still play the price? Will it be recognised that AG is a waste of space? Or will it at last be recognised that PH, or anyone else, can only work with the tools they're given? And if he does take AGs advice and things improve (regardless of whether or not the advice was effective) AG will get all the plaudits and people will still call for PHs head. It's a pity we had to off-load our 'stars' because we would have had a yardstick against which we could have measured PH. The end of last season can't be counted because of all the then turmoil (Harry et al).

I will always be after Hart. This team has been trying hard to get on track...and now it is time for us to start getting points since things are starting to look good! This will be down to Hart's hard work and not Avram's. In my opinion, I think that Avram's appointment was a bit rushed. I am sure that an assistant to Hart was the thing we really needed. At the moment, we cannot afford Avram....I am sure he is getting paid some nice money.
