What does the wonderful world of Mark Lawrenson, the so-called BBC's 'expert pundit', have to offer us this week? Lets see...
Looking at his column on BBC Sport, Lawro's predictions - here, I see that he has us down for, yep you guessed it another defeat at Hull, having surprisingly tipped us to hold Spurs last week...
This is what he said: 'Hull never looked like scoring against Fulham and really struggled. At least they have improved in their home games.
'Pompey have played better than their results suggest but both teams are at the wrong end of the table. I think they'll be both down there at the end of the season as well. This game is a 24-pointer! I'm seeing this as a relegation dogfight already!
'Verdict: 1-0.'
Boy am I glad that he fully justified the reasons why Hull will win and we will lose, had he not explained this I would have been at a loss - oh, hang on he has not given any reasons at all apart from saying 'both teams are rubbish.'
Clearly he stuck in a pin, rolled a dice or tossed a coin on this one as there seems to be little reasoning to his thoughts - unlike other predictions he made. Hull and Pompey must be beneath him, although of course the bin dippers will 'brush aside' their worst form in over 20-years to claim a point against Manyoo, simples...

I predict a Pompy win, Hull are terrible and i think youl win comfortably. Alas, if you lose however you are as good as relegated

They've got a talented trio in Hunt, Geovanni and Bullard. However Hunt is prone to hot-headedness, Geovanni drifts in and out and Bullard isn't fully fit. We can win but it won't be a push over.

We have to win, Huddersfieldyiddo is not right yet but he will be if we don't beat Wigan. My tenner is on a Pompey win by 1 goal with a nerv racking last 10 mins.

Lawro doesn't get very many right you know, I don't think we should pay too much attention to what he says at all. As for being relegated if we do lose, it might well just be the catalyst for a new manager, and that might make all the difference. Like another club I can think of last season.

as u say ... stick a pin, roll the dice etc... NOBODY KNOWS ... i mean, sure you could say this about any match but most times you have a fair indication. this really is guess-a-thon. luckily lawro tends to get it wrong and hardly gets the right score line. i dont really care what the result is BUT i want to keep a clean sheet (uh oh hull cant win then ;)) and it would be nice to think we could score at least one goal, i would like two (oh dear so hang on im saying pompey win :0). saying that, knowing both managers and the sh-one-t they are in, this could well end up as a draw which will put pressure on zola to get a result! hmmmm ... if i had £50 i would put it on pompey (draw no bet) but the last time i put money on i put it on wolves to beat pompey and look what that got me (and pompey!!) LOOL.
