Finding a watering-Hull

Finding a watering-Hull

Sorry, I will get my coat as that is arguably the worst ever attempted pun in the history of 'punning', if that is even a word?

Anyway, if anyone is going to Hull this weekend and is looking for a place to drink prior to, maybe even after the game, myself and Barefoot Pompey can suggest the following - tried and tested last season, minutes from the ground and where each of us will be again this Saturday...

Name: New Walton Club
Address: Walton Street, HU3 6JR

A fantastic social club, cost £1 to get in but drinks are around 2 quid a pint - now that aint bad!

We parked in the car park there, and were able to leave the car during the game, getting away was a bit of a pain but well worth it - I guess you could always 'nip in for a pint' after too, but you need to pay your quid again...

Really good one, and one we 'will' use again, assuming we both stay up - literally 10 mins on foot from the KC but some 20-30 mins from the train station I reckon, which is a pain

----------

Name: Polar Bear
Address: 229 Spring Bank, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU3 1LR.

See map - here.

About 10 mins from the Ground and 20 to the train station.

Friendly, Hull supporters pub - they even bought me a pint after the school yard game last year! Was 0-0 though!

Smoking area out back too!

If your walking from the station turn left and follow the main road until you get to the main junction (should be able to see Hull Daily Mail building). Turn left and walk down Spring Bank - go straight over at the lights and keep going - past Sainburys local - cross the road past Tesco Express and it's just on your left - The Polar Bear!

(See link for photo!)

Nice Boozer but no Car Park! Though could risk parking at Iceland HU3 1LP (just before the 2nd set of Pedestrian lights on the left!)

Doncaster's winless run went on but they remain three points ahead of Plymouth. Carlisle are a further two points back. Leyton Orient and Newport hold the unwanted relegation places.

Video - Barnet 1-1 Pompey

A late Barnet goal looked as though it would end Pompey's unbeaten run but Conor Chaplin proved the saviour when he scored a last minute equaliser to earn a point in a 1-1 draw.
