Pompey man of the match against Spurs

'Kevin-Prince Boateng was the man of the match against Spurs', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I do not necessarily agree with to be honest...

Boateng has clearly made quite an impression since his arrival at Pompey, and is often standing out - his goal probably worked in his favour for many, although for me I thought Tommy Smith had another fantastic game.

I still think that Nadir Belhadj's arrival was the right call but Smith being taken off was the wrong one and maybe it would have made the difference had we left him no - but there you go...

Quite how Aruna Dindane managed to secure 12% of the votes is anyone's guess though, that said from a Spurs point of view he would have been the man of the match as he missed a couple of sitters!

All in all though, the overall man of the match was Heurelho Gomes without a doubt as he made at least a couple, what I would say were world-class saves, added to a few others really good ones - his 1st half one that flicked up off Smith from Younes Kaboul's free kick was just incredible, and Spurs are being linked with David James because?

  • What the poll asked - Man of the match against Spurs?

  • How you voted - Boateng 59%, Smith (63) 21%, Dindane 12%, James 7%, Sub - Utaka (90) 1%, Yebda 0%, Wilson 0%, Kaboul 0%, Finnan (90) 0%, Ben-Haim 0%, Mokoena (78) 0%, Brown 0%, Sub - Piquionne (63) 0%, Sub - Belhadj (78) 0%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

Boateng looks a really great signing - all we need ia a central defender and a top striker and this team is not far off top half!!

For me it was Smith all the way. The lad is proving to be a very good good player. Boateng is playing well, but against Spurs he had one thing on his mind; he wanted to score at all cost. He wasted some good opportunities by trying to shoot from a long range when he could have played the ball. I also liked Mokoena, he had quite a good game last time. Finnan was also very good in the first half! James, oh my oh my, what about that first goal!

Personally I think Dindane, forgetting his howlers, had a good game. He was strong and game them plenty of problems at the back. His goals will come and will come soon.
