Today has seen it confirmed that Avram Grant's arrival as our director of football has been delayed due to 'international red tape', or to put it simply, the delay in getting a new work permit issued!
This is not anything to worry about, and if anyone or anywhere is portraying this as such then they are doing nothing but 'rumour mongering' or 'scare mongering.'
There is still a good chance that he 'should' have this work permit issue sorted, and issued, in time for him to take his place in the dugout this weekend.
As one person arrives another leaves though, with The Pompey Site confirming that Roberto Avondo, an executive director, will be leaving the club this week.
Peter Storrie issued a statement thanking him for his efforts during his time at the club, wishing him well when he leaves on Friday and expressing his sorrow he was going: 'Roberto has played a major role in the running of the football club since arriving three years ago.
'He has helped guide the club through a difficult period over the last year and we are all sorry to see him leave.
'Roberto is highly-respected in the world of banking and finance and everyone at the club wishes him well for the future.
'He has not only been a valued colleague but has also become a close friend and confidante to me personally during his time at Fratton Park.'
Avondo himself added: 'to have been part of the success story at Pompey for the last three years has been a tremendous privilege.
'Among other things I have walked on the pitch at Wembley holding the FA Cup and have made wonderful friends along the way.
'I wish the club, its new owners, Peter and the executive all the very best for the future.'
