James is off to Old Trafford now, apparently!

Saturday, Sunday and a part of Monday David James was off to Spurs to 'save his England dream,' something that I still find insulting! Not so much that he would 'apparently' move to Spurs but that the papers keep printing that he has to leave Pompey to ensure he goes to the world cup - I would be even more so if these were 'really' thoughts that James shared...

Well, in The Express today they have outdone themselves, as Fergie is 'said' to be planning a 'shock move' to take him to Manyoo in the New Year? They 'claim' that Fergie 'will assess Ben Foster's form and Edwin van der Sar's return from injury over the next couple of months before deciding on James.'

With Pompey 'already braced for a battle to hang on to James' we apparently know that we 'would be virtually powerless to stop him from moving to Old Trafford,' although perhaps, if unlikely, he might not want to move to Manchester? That is of course if Manyoo even are interested?

To be honest I do not know what to think anymore, I think the best thing to do is just focus purely on the months in-between January and concentrate on them and push up the table - if James wants out so be it, if we want him out again so be it I guess as we cannot alter either, although I would say James could quite easily quash all the 'rumours' by setting the record straight, right? By not making it clear he is not wanting to go anywhere, and dropping little hints he could, it is doing little, for me, to play down these 'reports.'

Although all in all, despite the fact that Manyoo are one of the biggest clubs in the world I would still see a move to Old Trafford as a strange one as I could not see much of a future for him at Manyoo beyond this season...

Peter Storrie has told The News that 'reports' linking him with either Spurs or Manyoo are 'a load of rubbish' and he is going nowhere: 'it's a load of rubbish, it really is.

'David is under contract and it will be staying that way.

'He's happy and we are happy - David's going absolutely nowhere.

'We don't need to sell him and we have no interest in doing so. People should ignore these rumours, that's all they are.'

Good to hear, although we have heard the 'we do not need to sell' before... I would be happier if I heard these thoughts coming from Jamo's mouth to be honest...

I still think he will stay. Jamo loves living in the south. Will play for us beyond this season & no reason why he can't be England's number 1 with us.

Speculation, gossip, stories. Does it never stop? He's Pompey until he's gone - don't lets join in this nonsense for the next 3 months. As for his England chances, surely he will shine brighter behind a shaky defence rather than behind a unit where he'll probably not see much of the ball. Lastly, what future would he have at MU? None!

If we are getting all this new money, there'll be no reason to sell Jamo to Spurs to payoff tranfer fees owed to them. I agree United would be a bad move, unlikely to extend his career beyond this season. The clincher however is that Mrs L would never forgive him as she specifically chose her season ticket to watch him warm up!

So much press and media speculation, you don't know what to believe anymore. Agree with Rug it would be nice to hear it from Jamo himself, but I guess we'll have to wait till he gets back from England duty first. Also agree with Mrs Lemmi, Pompey warm ups would just never be the same if he went.

Reading Jamo's Sunday column there is nothing to suggest he is unhappy, quite the opposite actually. And I would certainly not risk the wrath of Mrs Lemmi

Spurs.. Manchester United and now Liverpool !! .. whereever next Notts County ??..... Total tosh ... Jameo is going nowhere (I hope!)

as long as he gets first team football, what is the problem, he keeps fit, he'll be in the world cup, simples!
the fear

Yeah right! Being United's second choice keeper and bench warmer will really help his chance of playing in South Africa next year!

Another loan for Oxlade-Chamberlain

As I think we all know by now Oxlade-Chamberlain is the son of former Pompey winger Mark Chamberlain and the brother of Arsenal's & England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
