Pompey man of the match against Wolves

'Kevin-Prince Boateng was the man of the match against Wolves', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I guess are about fair...

Once again, for me, it was hard to single anyone out as being 'the best player', that said Boateng has without a doubt added extra quality, and a dimension, to the midfield and is looking a really good footballer - much better than I thought he would be to be honest!

I also thought Tommy Smith again ran his nuts off again, so it is easy to see why he had a large amount of the vote. Again I do feel he has a lot more quality about him than I, and many others, expected and he works bloody hard to go with it. His first touch is often really good and he can often turn at pace - as he did against Wolves several times.

All in all though Boateng was probably just about the worthy winner, although I would say some are probably lower than they should have been...

  • What the poll asked - Man of the match against Wolves?

  • How you voted - Boateng 41%, Smith (90) 18%, James 12%, Kaboul 7%, O'Hara 7%, Dindane (73) 3%, Yebda (78) 3%, Ben-Haim 3%, Brown 2%, Finnan 2%, Sub - Vanden Borre (90) 1%, Wilson 1%, Sub - Webber (73) 0%, Sub - Mokoena (78) 0%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

From what I saw watching the game on line, Boateng did do well, and provided the pass that allowed Yebda to score, but you are right, overall it was a fantastic team performance, and it seems almost a shame to single any of them out.

KPB has looked very good for us so far, and together with O'Hara our midfield is starting to look at a good standard again, rather than the defensive montage and mess it was towards the back end of last season. Yebda has looked pretty handy as well, but Boateng is still young and can learn from the more experienced players, but MOTM for the Wolves game had to be Younes Kaboul who absolutely ran the defence and killed the Wolves attacks.
