'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sky sports news understands...

This is a line that we hear a lot, to be fair though when sky sports often does have the 'understands' a large amount of the time they are right, right?

Well they say: 'Ali Al-Faraj could complete his takeover of Portsmouth on Monday evening.

'The Saudi-Arabian businessman is in discussions with current Pompey owner Sulaiman Al-Fahim, who has failed to produce the necessary funds to run the club after only arriving in August.

'It was reported that a deal was expected on Wednesday, but it is now understood that talks, which also involve former owner Sasha Gaydamak, have proceeded productively and a conclusion could be reached by as early as Monday night.'

I say, until we have some written evidence on The Pompey Site nothing is done, although even then sometimes all is not as it seems is it!

I just hope and pray that this deal is concluded, and concluded swiftly without any 'hidden surprises' down the line.

All I ask it that we just have an easy life for once, one where we just get the good that I feel we deserve... If we can get this wrapped up tonight, bonus, if we have to wait a few more days so be it, lets - as I say - just get it done and get it done right, and with minimal fuss!

The latest 'Sky sports news understands' comments says that 'the neccesary documentation has been agreed and signed as Ali Al-Faraj edges closer to completing his takeover of Portsmouth.'

With them also saying: 'a conclusion to the takeover has now edged even closer as the paperwork is understood to have been finalised, with both parties happy with the terms.

'Former Pompey owner Sasha Gaydamak, who still owns land surrounding Fratton Park, has also given his required backing to the billionaire's impending arrival.

'Al-Faraj is rumoured to be prepared to invest heavily in Portsmouth and will make vast amounts of money available for the Premier League strugglers in the January transfer window.'

Although I again refer you to my own above mentioned thoughts...

Hopfuly done tonight or tomorrow, just hopfuly soon!
Happy times are on their way back!
Agree with you 100% rug.
can't wait, looks like a very rich man/family shame we dont no anything about them. but lets hope it gets done tonight or tomorow! -----p----u-----p------
so if the doctor invests 50million 'Ali Al-Faraj has to invest 450million ?? is that right?
I really hope this takeover works for you guys, you deserve it!
If it happens it is really good news for the club in its entirety, who knows the mystical training ground and stadium might happen after all.
Thanks Merlin. Although Pompey have been kicked everywhere by the press most fans support your point of view. We could be about to move to another level

Fingers crossed.

Good News on the Horizon!
Glad SOMEBODY understands...cos I'm buggered if I do. Someone decide something soon pls.
actually just realised that the pic at the top makes SAF look like a cut price John Travolta. Does PS look enough like Olivia Newton JOhn, though.
Hey, eastneydave, why start making the 'another level' comments? Surely, a solid, established premier league team is the first port of call. Lets not get back into the misguided excitability we saw when Saf first came onto the scene.
Hopefully it all comes right and we can look to more security and less BS from the media. It has been nice to see support from other team supporters who genuinely seem to think we didn't deserve this.
WHAT A BREATH OF FRESH AIR if it all goes through!!!!! Just hope Sasha doesn't hold them to ransom on anything.
SKy sports reporting that documents have been agreed and signed!!
Ha ha Matt! hope it all goes trough quickly and our boys get paid their wages, cos it doesn't matter how much you earn, every one needs their money.
Seems to be going through very smoothly, almost like it was set up weeks ago...
Gandor, if any one of them hasn't got a bit left over from last month's pay packet, I would be quite horrified, wouldn't you?
paul - I spotted that too. Now I wonder where it all took place?
That place with a theatre named after it I reckon
Wakey - when I said another level I meant a level above where we are at the moment. Stability must be the goal.
Does anyone like me think this was going to happen a few weeks back,SaF buys the club from sashca as his dad wouldnt sell to the Faraj family,he acts like a spin doctor taking the limelight off the al faraj"s in order for them to slip quietly and easily into place, sashcas about turn could be due to the fact that the land he owns around FP would be worthless if not granted planning permission, maybe his descision to let pompey go to the wolves was so that they would go under and he would then have good reason to rip down fratton park and build on all the land availiable,I dont claim to know anything about building work and planning permission, but why say no to the faraj brothers and 4 weeks later say yes,it doesnt make sense,(neither does this what I just wrote either probably).
has the OS gone down? is it a sign of an announcement ?
Jason, it makes as much sense as any other version of events (go to the Wolves...nice one!)
Or did the experience of meeting the PVA a) make SAF unwell and b) persuade him to get the hell out of it a.s.a.p. ;)
sky web says he is going to invest massive amounts in Jan window....I sort of like the current boys now. I would buy O'Hara ...I've hears the manager from his club will sell anyone if there's a little sweetner to help the deal go through...I suppose we would'nt want that though would we

Ali Al Faraj has completed the Takeover of Portsmouth, yehhhh!
Hallelujah. Dear Mr Al Faraj, lend me a couple of quid.
I have to say doesn't this just seem very similar to the way Man City were bought?

seems job is done, lets drink to that! Some reports are that SAF did the right thing and told Gaydamak he couldnt do it alone and Gaydamak relented. Now lets get some news about stadiums and training facilites; not to mention looking for team and managerial reinforcements; " should they be required"!!!!

In what way are you talking about, L L Blue?
PompeyMcfad, in the way that a lot of us suspected SAF never intended a long term aquisition, he has the eputation of making profit or taking a share then moving on; like at Citeh, LoL hopefully by the end of the season we will also be challenging for a UEFA cup place or mid table obscurity; like Citeh.
anybody got a report on the reserves game, i understand Fred P actually put some effort in and got a couple of goals; amazing what a win and some competition can do to some players.
just how long is it til we find out he is thed ultimate Fake sheik and itss all a patriotic News of the screws scam to expose forriegn ownership... ... ...please no

I just hope none of the latest brown envelope scandals currently bubbling under effect us. We need to steady SS PFC and get some quality in in January to secure our place in the league. The summer should and will be the time to really change things and that includes the manager, unless he really struggles come January.
I was just enjoying the us against them mentality the club had. The narrow mindedness that led the fans to cheer a losing team. Still, it's better than administration
I hope it works out for you guys, don't want to see any club go under. Hope though that it is a wake up call to clubs flying a bit too close to the sun. Makes you wonder what the EPL's fit and proper test is 5hough, last 3 bank statements and a house bill by the sounds of it!
