A few 1st teamers play at Birmingham

A few 1st teamers play at Birmingham

There are not as many 1st team players on display for the Pompey reserves tonight as there were last week when we beat West Ham 3-0 but Freddy P, fresh from a double in that win, will be one of them.

The striker, who seems to have slipped down Paul Hart's selection process, will get a further chance to impressed him at Birmingham though where he will again be partnered by Danny Webber.

Jamie Ashdown will start in goal and Mike Williamson will also play again, and 'should' again captain the side.

I again see that Eugen Bopp is included from the start with trialist Cherno Samba named on the bench.

The game at St Andrew's kicks-off at 7pm - this is the Pompey side: Ashdown, Wilkinson, Williamson, Kilbey, Sowah, Cowan-Hall, Bopp, Mahoto, Nlundulu, Webber, Piquionne
Subs: T.Smith, Ryan, Gregory, Samba, M.Smith

With the new takover going through, would this of been Bopp's last appearance? I see we won 3-2 again

I see Freddie P put some effort in and scored a couple; good for him, good for the club, good for us

Solving that goalie quandary

I'm not sure our problem with finding a 'regular' no.1 last season was behind our failure to gain promotion from league two was it? Clearly it didn't help mind.

Pompey's attacking intent

Something Pompey (attacking intent) will look to show next season to get out of league two once and for all. Smith came in from Swindon last week but Cookie wants another striker.
