What we need from October
'Pompey will collect 7-9pts from October', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I agree with to be honest...
You look at the fixtures that October sees us have - Wolves (a), Spurs (h), Hull (a) and Wigan (h), and you think 'yep we can get 7-9pts, can't we?
Well we started the month with the vital 1-0 win at Wolves on Saturday, Spurs will of course be tough but if we keep playing as we have been recently why should we not get anything?
Hull is another 'must not lose' game, but is very much a game that I feel we can and will win - as for Wigan, of course this will by no means be easy, but I would be disappointed if we did not pick up the 3pts to be honest.
So, for me I can see 9pts being collected - maybe more, but lets take it a game at a time eh, and not get too carried away...

at the moment I'm still thinking 7; I would have gone for 9 if it weren't for the international break. It's a pity those just above us won, the team has to concentrate on it's performance but as fans just like last season we know how critical the performance of those around us is in our survival this season. I think it's the weakest league for years.

guys have got to stop worrying SO much about when we get the points, the key is to get them. Look at Hull last season.. . barely a point from xmas onwards - who is to say we wont get 30 points a lone in the second half of the season. Team will have gelled plus the possibility of one or two real quality signings in the key CB and CF positions - may be someone to replace O'hara when he goes back... unless Belhadj can fill in there with Kaboul playing well at RB.

I voted 7-9 points but I think we can get a clean sweep this month. There's no reason why not, the team are gelling and PH is playing an attacking formation with the option to play 4-5-1 if needed. The players are giving their all (despite no pay). Just imagine what they'll do with a massive investment in the club. Overall I'm feeling quite optimistic. Mind you ask me again at the end of the month!

And lets not forget the next game is no ordinarly match - not a derby as such, but kind off, grudge match in a way, certainly the local derby rules apply, form book goes out the window - so Spuds are top 4 but I reckon they're punching a little about their weight and Bolton gave them a run for their money. Also we know half their players' games inside out. We must not lose! And Hull and Wigan have to be winnable dont they?
