James recalled by Capello

David James' decent form for Pompey since his return from injury - coupled with the indifferent form of Manyoo's Ben Foster has seen our veteran keeper recalled to the England squad.

To be honest from what I have seen of Foster this season he has been pretty poor so it is little wonder James has been recalled, although I still feel - even if this might not be the case closer to the world cup - that he will be behind Rob Green, who is the current no.1.

That said it does seem that Fabio Capello favours James as his main man? And I, Pompey blinkers off, still feel that he is our best bet up to, and including, the world cup.

This will be another boost for us as a recall to for should eliminate any doubts that he 'might' have been having about staying with us - not that I can see why he would as it has never been a problem before, has it?

Well done to him, and good luck to him and all our other internationals on their travels over the next 10-days or so. Now we just have to hope that they all come back fit and well for the Spurs game!

Good to see Jamo back in the squad. He's there because he desrve to be and I fully expect him to be first choice for the World Cup. I'm also hoping all those on international duty come back fit for the Spurs game.

Still the best England has to offer and one of the finest keepers in the Prem today. If he can stay injury free and keep his focus he will walk straight into the England team (and probably cause us a headache or two in the Jan transfer window)

After his performance against Wolves on Saturday, he derverses it. And hes not really being recalled as in the last qualifiers, Jamo was injured. I bet Capello would of chose him then if he wasn't.

Good to see that this has happened for Jamo, he really is top drawer and fully deserves his chance to go to the World Cup...Good on Ya JAMO, PUP

I disagree, he has dropped off and is only still in the England running due to the lack of other quality English goalkeepers. He is making a lot of rash decisions to come when he really shouldn't be, and we were lucky against Wolves that the defenders were alert.

Pompeywa, Jamo has had some nervy moments but did I miss something or did Jamo's alertness earn us three valuable points against Wolves. I think he's over his non transfer disappointment and if the defence that has been dreadfull a few more clean sheets could be in the offing. According to the quay he hasn't been so motivated in months. FC will need to see him in training but I think he will be pushing for the No1 shirt very soon.

I think we have got the old Jamo back. He is as miserable as sin again in goal and is giving everyone who falls short a mouthful and sometimes those who haven't. I just love it! He is bound to be feeling better now he has been called up. Felt a bit sorry for him really.

He was only left out by Capello because of his knee injury and was missing games for Pompey at the time, his England no. 1 shirt has never been in doubt, and as if to prove the point the other contenders have been a bit dodgy lately, especially Foster. He is by far and away the best England keeper and I still tip him to play in the World Cup. Hope it cheers him up a bit!

I'd be surprised if he played but good to have him back in the squad. Keep him fit for us.
