Police Reject 10,000 Ticket Request

Pompey attempted to get 10,000 tickets, which Wigan would have accpeted but not the police.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan said: 'I would love to give Portsmouth another 5,000 but there is no chance. We asked Greater Manchester Police if we could do it but they they have said no.

'They say Portsmouth fans have to be in one stand and that's it. They won't budge an inch and we can't do anything but pass on our apologies. I feel sorry for them (the fans). I wish they could come.'

We sit in two stands at Arsenal!

Good luck from all at Chelsea in your efforts to stay up! Your support would be missed around the Premiership if the worst were to happen

Who remembers at Swindow about 6 years ago when we drew 3-3. Think we had to put a defender in goal cos Flavs got badly injured about 15 mins in. Anyways my point is we had both ends there and spent the whole game waving at each other.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
