Match Day Live - Wolves v Pompey

Match Day Live - Wolves v Pompey

Despite our run of seven straight league defeats the performance against Everton last Saturday was the best of the season and if manager Paul Hart has managed to pick his troops up again then the prospects of points are good.

Pompey have sold all of their allocation of over 1,500 seats for the game which certainly shows the fans have not lost faith for this key game as the Blues try to eventually kick start their season. This is the place to be to discuss the game so get posting members.

Steve Finnan makes his debut in place of Anthony Vanden Borre and Aaron Mokoena pays the price for a number of below par performances losing his place to Hassan Yebda.

For the home side Kevin Foley comes back in for the injured Segundo Castillo.

morning guys... been away from pc for a few days... what the chuffing hell is going on... just as we thought we were heading in a direction turning away from s**t creek we seem to have got the rudder stuck ready to head down the rapids without a paddle in view! anyway, enough analogies. ive decided to the unsaintly thing... ive put £50 in to my b365 account and put £30 on wolves to win, £10 on wolves to win by 1 goal and £10 for wolves to win to nil (ie pompey not to score after wolves score). for this is a "win-win" situation. because either i make a "shed load" of cash (it is for a mere recently turned graduate who is unemployed) OR pompey get at least a point on the board (which could be argued may be worth MORE than the £60-70 profit I would make). i would have also put a cheeky 5er on kevin doyle to score - the kid looks good at this level. on a mere supporters note, i really really really would like us to NOT conceed (yes i lose £50) but it would mean that just for once we were able to contain a team - hopefully without conceeding we may actually go the other end and bang on in. somewhere along the line, one team is going to get absolutely battered... and a lot think wolves, i just think it may be still a bit too "early". + al hansen thinks wolves will win and he doesnt have any tinted glasses on. lets get behind the team, but lets get real as well. this is going to be a tough match. sorry for long post - had a heavy night and just blurting on. PUPPPU =)

To be honest though after losing 7 in a row it has become hard to see where we're gonna win. Although if we can carry last weeks performance and a bit of luck into todays game then we are due a win, or atleast scoring more than once in a game. Quietly confident with us getting a result today, we'll c come 5pm. PUP!

I wouldn't say I'm confident, but I'm hopeful. After all after 7 defeats in a row how can you be confident, you just want the pain to stop! but I'm really hoping we will get something today and turn this horrible horrible run around.

Almost there...stay on target

The win over Newport saw Pompey react well to the defeat to Stevenage with most results going in the Blues' favour too, meaning we've effectively got a seven point buffer on Boro.
