Worrying, and frustrating, times?

Worrying, and frustrating, times?

Ok, maybe 'worrying times' is not exactly the right selection of words for the title and maybe something like 'more worrying times' would have been more appropriate given the latest 'reported words', to Spanish paper Marca, that SAF has spoken...

Whilst his thoughts of prioritising the clubs 'infrastructure' are something that I like hearing the 'suggestion' that he will not be spending money on players until next summer is worrying: 'you have to do things at their own speed and at the moment the priority for Portsmouth is to create a good infrastructure so that the club can have a serious face in the future.'

To be fair, unless this - and what will follow - is not the entire amount that he said the way it has been portrayed that he will not invest money in January is not entirely true, is it?

Somewhat perplexingly though SAF is 'thought' to be keen on buying a Spanish club, something that he has denied insisting that his main 'pre-occupation' is Pompey: 'I am not interested in investing in a Spanish club.

'Now my main pre-occupation is with Pompey and to improve the level of the squad for the Premier League.'

These latter thoughts, even more so, do not seem to tie in with those that the media are suggesting he is not going to spend in January do they?

I am delighted to hear that SAF wants to work on the infrastructure, but I am just annoyed again that he could not have said these things direct to us through The Pompey Site or even waited until the end of the week to tell us direct at his meeting with supporters clubs and fans sites... I tell you what though, SAF needs to be clear and ensure he delivers what he says he will at this meeting!

This said if he thinks he can get away without bringing players in during the January window, again unless there is more to this I do not entirely think he has said this, he is seriously mistaken - not that it needs millions and millions of pounds being spend, but some level of investment is a must.

As for the infrastructure ideas, fantastic but as said actions and not just words will be demanded now!

The guy - although once again I must stress the way this is being portrayed in the media is not entirely as it appears to be put across - continues to do himself no favours, by not talking to the fans though The Pompey Site, and being involved in some chess event when he should be here overlooking 'his club' is not going to help is it?

I think frustrating about sums up things at the moment and 'frustrated' is how we best described our feelings about the SAF takeover in a recent poll, put forward by PFCblue - and I think that is about right...

  • What the poll asked - After the initial euphoria of the SAF takeover how do you feel now?

  • How you voted - Frustrated 54%, Resigned to our fate 25%, Really down 13%, Still ecstatic 6%, High hopes 2%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on the above and what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

I think he is a bit of a playboy. Only truly interested in himself and his profile/bank account. He's helped us out so I think we just have to accept his way of doing things and look at what is actually happening at the club (player investment and any structural investment) and not what he might or might not do in the future. It might save a few grey hairs

Have you had confirmation of the day and time of this weekends PVA with SAF yet? He is happy to spout off to whoever will listen around the world but says nothing to us fans. Hope he doesn't find an excuse to miss this meeting to actually tell us what he's got planned and how he's going to do it and prove to us he's not just a chancer on a big ego trip.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment in principal you cant stop the man being asked and answering a question! Thats unfair on him and unrealistic; he will be asked and a non answer would then be criticised for not answering; none of you lot criticised sasha or harry for answering questions. Im more worried about the no investment in january although to be fair having had the Marca interview read to me that is not what he has said; also why is SAF in Madrid, has he not enough to do at Pompey. Quite frankly ashfordblue until the PVA is prepared to ask some tough questions of all the regime it seems in reality to be of little consequence other than to give some the opportunity to worship storrie, provide him a mouthpiece and provide minutes that must for which it must apologise because they "are blatantly misinterprpeted by the press" becuse they seemed to indicate Storrie criticising his boss and consequently giving our chief exec a red face; even though it seems the minutes are apparently a faithfull representation of the meeting. Not much credibility given to the PVA from what i hear in the pubs around the ground last night

to clarify im not against the PVA principal; its a good idea in principal but it does need to ask the right questions, not questions like " dear peter why are you so wonderfull; love ya"

russellm. I don't have much faith in the PVA getting a straight answer from SAF but at least they seem to be trying. If they don't succeed who else will?

We will struggle to get out of the bottom 6 with this set up of players. If he doesn't buy some quality in January, we are just as likely to sell those who consider our fate already sealed. Time to talk to us, invest in the team or sod off!

So what the hell is this supposed 'investment' from America going to be spent on then? Or was this another bull-carp rumour to keep our hopes up? I'm getting tired of this Fahim....

Where does it say that he will not be spending in January? Is this just misleading information?

Quite simply .. Our owner is a a prat who knows very little about our club, our traditions or the pride within our fan base - I am embarassed that he is the Chairman of PFC and angry that so far all he has shelled out is £41.. £1 to buy the club and £40 for his shirt - The sooner he sells the better as far as I am concerned
