As I travelled home from Carlisle last night, checking newsnow on my phone in the car I read something about Sol Campbell walking out on Notts County?
Well, today this is plastered all over sky sports and BBC sport with it appearing that Sol has indeed walked out on County!
Less than 1-month, and only 1 game into his league two career, having signed a 5-year contract worth a 'reported' £10m the former Pompey captain is 'said' to have walked out after 'promises' were not kept about 'quality players' being signed and certain aspects of the clubs structure not being sorted out either. It is also 'said' that he was unhappy with the quality of the players at the club and the amount of 'mistakes' they were allowed to 'get away with'...
I find this criminal, and if this is 'officially' confirmed as him walking away - something the BBC say County will allow - I would be disgusted if any club picked him up!
For me Sol should have effectively announced his own retirement from the game as who in their right minds will take him on now? And why should they?
Although it would not surprise me if a certain someone, who is of course down to the 'bare bones', attempted to pull off some deal to take him back to Spurs, but surely this could never happen...
Some 'reports' say that he told his County teammates at training on Tuesday that he would not be coming back and said his goodbyes, with sky sports also reporting that the club hope to 'change his mind' - although I do not think you can change Sol's mind when it is made up, and if I were a Notts County fans I would not want the club to be trying to change his mind, but I would be expecting them to be seeking some form of compensation from the player!
You cannot just walk out of a contract like that, can you...

Yep Chix is right a lot of people give up a job after a few days if they know they have made the wrong decision.
