Congratulations Vital Football !

Congratulations Vital Football !

It is not everyday that you get associated with something that receives public recognition for being a success, but if you are a casual reader, passive member, active contributor, moderator or administrator for any of the Vital Football sites now is the time to feel proud.

The Daily Telegraph has just published an article naming the 25 best football websites and Vital Football is ranked seventh overall and as high as third in the 'communities' section.

This is a major achievement for all connected with Vital Football especially considering the thousands of football websites available on the internet and the rankings of some of the more 'professional` organisations on the list, and more to the point, some of those that did not even make the final cut of twenty-five!

A link to the Telegraph article is below, but before you read it, give yourselves a huge pat on the back for being part of a nationally recognised success story… and whatever you do, do not stop getting involved with your thoughts and comments about our national game. That is what makes Vital Football what it is.

It doesn't matter if you support Pompey or Arsenal, Spurs or Man City, Rotherham or Sheffield Wednesday or whoever - If you follow football there is always something of interest on Vital Football

'For the fans by the fans'. Never was a strap-line so accurately put !

Well done everybody … especially our very own Rug and all the other guys behind the scenes that have made Vital Football what it is today.

I'm personally chuffed to bits with this news.. It took me a long time to decide on an an e-home that I could write for and contribute to and this news just backs up the point that I made the right decision. The Telegraph comment about us not being linked to a major organisation makes it all the more sweeter... We have all seen what can (unfortunately) happen to those sites virtually overnight... Long live Vital Football.. and all those involved in our own little corner 'Vital Pompey' can claim a drink off me if in the Milton Arms before (and probably) after the Everton game on Saturday

Cheers. Chix, can you drink a pint for me? I hope we win.

I'll drink a pint for you anyday my friend .. My bro (Sea-Juicer) is flying back from your neck of the woods just in time for the game on Saturday.. Hope he remembers to bringsome'Kinnie' with him.. can you still get that stuff?

Nice one Chix, great to be a part of Vital Pompey, I generally scan others ie The News, but only get involved on here. Credit to all of you guys who run the site.

as i have posted elsewhere on VP, if you get annoyed with this site try visiting some of the other Pompey sites ; DONT PANIC MR RUG they'll be back. Try the online one managed by the self appointed chairman of all pompey fans where they get talked at via ridiculous inaccurate editorials which conveniently ignore facts, the same self appointed chairman wouldn't challenge the club and deffinetly not Storrie on anything substantive - ever. And to top it off you get no right of reply. You are allowed to worship him though. You could try the news, where the contributors seem to be at permamanet "literary" war with each other and the editor. So when you get aannoyed by a posting, like this one, go try these sites and we'll look forward to seeing you back on VP tomorrow - where your opinion counts..

Well done chaps. Having contributed my nonsense for the last 2+ years, if not as much lately, this is a wonderful fans platform.
23/09/2009 10:27:00
yup, i'm amazed I havn't been told to shut up once! And no-ones ever said that my point was invalid becasue i splt it rong
23/09/2009 16:48:00
oh shut up Carpet !.. You are always grabbing the limelight with your invalid and grammatically incorrect diatribe
23/09/2009 19:50:00
Yes we have done well haven't we!! I know a lot of people who admit to reading our articles etc. but just won't register. That is where we must concentrate our efforts now. As to the pint Chix is that one or two you owe me? lol
24/09/2009 09:18:00
Yeah, you can, I'll get you some when I come up to Fratton.

Chaplin secured

Chaplin had a contract with Pompey until 2018 but ahead of the disappointing Notts County defeat he extended his contract with the Blues until 2019.

On this day in history...25th October

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 25th October.

Another Fratton disappointment

That 2nd half on Saturday against Notts County was woeful - absolutely awful wasn't it. The first 15-minutes or so of it was like a pre-season friendly to pre-season!

Match highlights - Pompey 1-2 Notts County

What a disappointment that was! The 1st half wasn't bad, in fact large chunks of it were good but the 2nd half was just woeful with a soft centred Pompey beaten 2-1 by Notts County.
