The game against Bolton last weekend was the 100th, competitive game, that I had seen Pompey play...
This might not sound much, even less considering the first competitive game I saw us play was some 11-years back - although it is more impressive when you think that I have done all of these games travelling from Devon, where I moved as a kid, and done this without being a driver.
Still, an average of less than 10 games per season might not sound that 'grand', although after bursting onto the 'I must go to football scene' in the 1998/99 season I went to plenty home and away, as I did in the 1999/2000 season - then I went back to college again, so had to stop going for money purposes, in the meantime I lost contact with people so between May 2000 and September 2007, due to various things during and after this course, I only managed 3 games...
So, really I have done my 100 games, home, away and overseas over the 98/99, 99/2000, 07/08, 08/09 and 09-date seasons, an average of some 25, or thereabouts game per season - with last seasons 33 being the most that I have ever done, at the most cost ever too I would guess!
It has been a mixed bag over these 100 but as I hold my bat aloft triumphantly - even though the Bolton game ended in defeat - and reflect I ask myself would I ever go back and change anything?
Hell no... Well, I would actually, I would change the fact that between 2000-07 I went some 7-years out of contact with Ken and the gang, which had I been able to keep in touch with them, even though times were hard I would have still managed a few more in-between I am sure!
All in all though, through the good and bad I have loved it, making some fantastic mates and close friends along the way - as I continue to all the time - so here's to the next hundred and more, which begins at Villa tomorrow...

it makes a change to be talking about something different, something more positive and 'exciting' for a change doesnt it? know what i mean?
it is expensive, i would say with season ticket, train travel, petrol costs, flights etc. last season would have set me back at least £2000 - but this is what i do, i sacrifice other things for my football... i sometimes get fed up with the travel too and from devon but i also like making the weekend of it with family in pompey, when its a home game.
lets hear more of your stories guys, the games you have been too etc - drop me some through as 'article suggestions' and we can either run as are or in sunday toast, and remember pompeyrama allows you to keep a track of the games you do!
