Dindane insists he is 'almost' ready

Aruna Dindane arrived at Pompey before the close of the transfer window, but as yet we have not seen him feature...

'Rumours' have been doing the round that he might not play until November, but he has today told sky sports that he is nearly ready: 'people are worrying as I have not played so far.

'But the season is long and I am getting sharp. I have a special program and to be honest I am feeling fine, I am almost ready to play.

'Mr Hart wants me to be properly ready and I am well. Hopefully I will join the first team next week.'

The earliest that I would think we would see him in league action would be Everton in a couple of weeks, at best, but I am pretty sure that some 'word on the street' talk has said that the striker could make his debut against Carlisle in the league cup next week?

Unless I was imagining that...

Either way Dindane - who I do think we cannot be putting too much pressure or expectation on, that is not to say that we do not expect something - says he 'can't wait to start playing' for us and also thanks 'the Portsmouth board for giving me the opportunity to play in the best league in the world.'

If the 28-year-old does the business he will not only make his loan move from Lens a permanent one he will also have a fine chance of going to the world cup finals with the Ivory Coast - something that he has more than one eye on, but keeping us in the premier league is also high on his list of priorities...

I knew the guy had been troubled by some injuries but I was shocked when 'reports' started filtering through about the extend of these knee problems and how they 'could' trouble us during his time with us, but hopefully this is nothing more than 'idol gossip' and he can be fit and ready to start playing soon, and stay fit!

Like I say though we cannot be pinning all our hopes on Dindane to be our 'saviour'...

Maybe Finnan, Williamson and Dindane will make their debuts at Carlisle along with a start for Hermann, Yebda and Webber?

Blimey - if that happens, we have a chance of winning :)

Hope dindane can score goals and be a good asset to us.Cant wait till he is ready him and piq up front.

If Dindane starts against Carlisle and nets a handfull, he's scare the bejeezus out of Everton. Fingers crossed, eh?

I agree Rug he hasn't had any kind of pre season so won't have any fitness, just like Webber. Dindane is not an instant answer he will need time. Another knee jerk publicity statement from SAF I see

Dindane will be another piece of the jig-saw. Problem is does PH know what the finished picture looks like?

I hope that Hart starts with the best 11 against Carlisle. We have to win big time, with a large score. That would motivate the team. If Dindanne is fit, for me he should be starting everytime. However, I like the idea of Tommy Smith, as he is proving that he is not another Nuge.

tommy smith has surprised me tbh, he works very hard and has better quality than i thought he would - i just now want to see what he is like when he has a chance, as to be fair he has not actually had an clear cut chances has he, his previous seems to suggest that he would take them...

Smith has impressed me too, but it should take goals to guarantee his place. His is cup-tied along with Williamson, O'Hara and Boateng for Carlisle though.
