Season ticket holders discount

Pompey, as was mentioned at the Pompey Virtual Alliance (PVA) meeting on Saturday, have now officially confirmed on The Pompey Site that season ticket holders will receive an addition savings this season.

We will get an extra 5% off purchases in the club shop this season, taking our discount up to 10% plus we will receive 20% off a Pompey shirt/kit until the end of November.

Full details can be found below...

SPECIAL DISCOUNTS FOR SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

As a thank you for the ongoing support we receive from our current season ticket holders, Portsmouth Football Club is delighted to announce two additional bonuses - just for them.

Season ticket holders will receive 20% off the launch price of any Pompey replica kit (shirt, shorts, socks). This means they can get a short-sleeved home adult shirt for as little as £28.

This offer will run until November 30 2009 - and with the home and away kits on sale now and the third kit to be released on October 10, it's sure to be popular.

The second treat sees the discount for season ticket holders in PFC shops increased from 5% to 10%. This will be valid until May 31 2010.

To receive these discounts, season ticket holders must produce their own valid season ticket at the tills.

Makes sense. Good PR given ticket price cuts. Doesn't actually cost the club anything if it encourages people who wouldn't have bought a shirt to buy one.

And if you don't want to buy from the shop you get?..........Just confirms to me they must take you season ticket holders for complete mugs!
pentonpompey
maybe i, well we, are mugs but the way i see it this is better than a kick in the teeth - when all is said and done i would probably by a shirt this season, even tho i said i wouldnt, so if i can save 20% i will...
pompeyrug
So you fall into their trap then Rug! They give you nothing until you part with more cash...Very clever on the clubs part. My point exactly; they have given you nothing, it's the non ST holders who've come out best in this.
pentonpompey
Oh and Ps Rug it' not a dig at you or season ticket holders, just at the brazen marketing ploy from the club yet again!
pentonpompey
like i say tho, even tho i said i probably wouldnt buy a shirt this season i probably would - i say it every season and usually end up buying at least 2! so their marketing ploy will work on me, but at least i will save money on something that i wouldnt have, but probably still would have got :-)

Woo-hoo (!) I'm so grateful. Whilst not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I would not doubt be buying at least the Away strip...this is a little tongue in cheek! After purchasing an over-priced Season ticket (which has gone straight in Gaydamaks sky rocket) now to benefit from a thank-you from my club I've got to buy something else that is over-priced to get any benefit! Gee thanks....all is forgiven PR men...........you're great (for the hard of humour - a slice of sarcasm is attached!). PUP

I still haven't got a season ticket and am still not encouraged to do so following Storrie's recent comments about the owner don't exactly emphasize club stability; so I wouldn't commit anyway.

Too late allready got the home shirt, & don't really like the white one,But I will take advantage on the black shirt, that I would have bought anyway

To be honest, if I were a shareholder of the club, I'd expect any goodwill gestures to be fundamentally money-spinning - they're merely cutting out some of the profits on their sold goods. Not sure why anyone expects them to be some sort of local charity rather than a business. I'd rather they saved their money to be able to pay the sort of wage capable of appointing the next Brian Clough to run the team.
