Pompey man of the match against Bolton

'Jamie O'Hara was our man of the match against Bolton', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I do not entirely agree with to be honest...

Yep, I agree that O'Hara had a good game and I fully believe that he offered us something that we had been lacking - certainly from dead balls, his delivery was the best I had seen in a long time. He also offered us this outlet from the back and the only reason I can feel he came off was because he was tiring.

So, I can see why people went that way...

Although, for me, Tommy Smith is the one that should have been voted the man of the match - as he was the official man of the match - as he kept running all day long, never giving up and chasing down what might have seemed lost causes. I just feel a little disappointed that one of the best chances we had did not fall for him, not that I am saying he would have definitely scored.

  • What the poll asked - Man of the match against Bolton?

  • How you voted - O'Hara (71) 37%, Smith (83) 31%, Boateng 7%, Kaboul 7%, Belhadj 3%, James 3%, Sub - Yebda (71) 2%, Mokoena 2%, Vanden Borre 2%, Ben-Haim 2%, Brown 2%, Piquionne 1%, Sub - Webber (83) 1%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

Surprised Kaboul only came a very distant 3rd

OK. Own up. Who voted for Piquionne?
    PompeyDragon
Kaboul was great, im surprised he didn't get the vote. Nevermind, Jamie was great as well.

2% voted for Ben Haim? Oh dear... Drug users make theirselves known! :p

Kaboul was great, however he should have scored a second! Boateng had a very good game too, my man of the match, even though he faded a bit when O'Hara was off. Boateng gave us power and strenght going forward.

I couldn't argue with any one of Smith, OHara or Kaboul. Newbies weren't as bad as I anticipated though if they are good enough against a mid table team is yet to be seen. Ultimately the most influential man of that game was sat in the dug out

if williamson played we would of won!! we have far to little hight in their with belhadj and borre plus benhaim. kaboul rightback with williamson and ben haim herminator leftback.

Never mind Ben Haim, who voted Belhadj!!

aaah, poor Belhadj, keeps playing him out of position! However, I didn't vote for him (for once)

Williamson had to be handed his debut as he was already playing for Watford, unlike Ben Haim who had been eating pizza while seeing others play. Was shocked that he only met the team in the morning and then he played in the afternoon. These things are done when I play 5-a-side football with unknown people every Thursday!

tend to agree malta, ben haim only met his new teammates for the first time on saturday morning according to hart - he clearly did not know them and he clearly was not match fit as he was well off the pace... for me match fitness and regular football recently, despite his inexperience would have seen williamson put in, and for that added height aswell like you also say.
