And Hart's best signing will be...

Jamie O'Hara...

'O'Hara will prove to be Paul Hart's best signing', not my vote, yours - although these findings from nodster's poll are thoughts that I tend to agree with.

Lets not kid ourselves, we have not signed 'world beaters' but what we have signed are good quality, honest, genuine and hard working players - players that will fight for us and play as a team, individually we might not have any 'stars' that stand out but collectively we have a side that can now move us forward and avoid relegation.

So, for me O'Hara sums up all of those qualities.

He will give nothing less than 100% every week and also carries a creative threat, and goalscoring threat, of his own from a variety of positions that we have been missing. His tenacity, and most of all, mobility will help us no end.

I am just disappointed that his signing is only on loan until January - although I believe we have the option to extend until the end of the season, at least this is what The Pompey Site said? Although I would not write off us signing him permanently, as if he likes it here and we like him here who is to say he will not stay? We all know that it is highly likely that Jamie's Dad will bring others into Spurs' midfield in January, and next summer, so his situation, despite a new contract being signing before joining us, could change...

He 'seems' to be fitting in already by the sounds of it as the reporter camped outside our training ground on deadline day was shouted 'we have signed Zidane' by O'Hara after training.

I have also been very impressed with Freddy P - now that he has some others around him that could help supply him with goals, and he can help supply them, I think that we will see even more good from him, which will be rewarded with some goals.

  • What the poll asked - Who's gonna be Hart's best signing?

  • How you voted - Jamie O'Hara 23%, Frederic Piquionne 20%, Aruna Dindane 14%, Aaron Mokoena 11%, Hassan Yebda 7%, Tal Ben-Haim 5%, Kevin-Prince Boateng 5%, Michael Brown 5%, Anthony Vanden Borre 3%, Antti Niemi 2%, Mike Williamson 2%, Other 1%, Tommy Smith 1%, Steve Finnan 1%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

The man we love to revile, blame and villify; why we can't even mention his name; but agreed to loan us the player we consider the man most likely( me included) is the dripping irony apparent to any one else!

Hopefully he can do us proud! Looks like an excellent quality player to have. I wonder if his lovely girlfriend will grace fratton park with her presence. PUP.

We know O'Hara should be a useful addition - I think the ones to watch are Vanden Borre, Dindane, Yebda and the Prince. If Vanden Borre can find some fitness and form he could become the player he has always promised to be. I see a lot of Glen Johnson in him. Dindane should be a cracker of a signing should he hold back his knee injury problems - he could be the difference between staying up and going down. Yebda I'm excited about based upon appearance alone - will he be more Hameur Bouazza than Zinedine Zidane? He should settle in with his countryman Nadir Belhadj around. And finally can Boateng turn himself into the player he was in Germany. Hart has taken a gamble and signed a group of players with a lot of promise but promise won't necessarily guarantee success, talent will. These boys have to step up.

Boeting has shown all the promise of being a very very good player. Dindane aparantly has all the characteristics we have been asking for, and van den borre has looked good...at times... and showed a truly remarkable improvement from playing against hereford (where he looked uncomfortable with league 2 forwards) to playing against city (where he looked comfortable not only defending against world class forwards, but also got forwards, and earnt the praises from several city fans!)

Russell M. I'm just about over what he did to us last October. I'm getting on in years and my memory (thank goodness) is short. But now I'm now wondering about the tapping up of Crouch and Kranjcar resulting in sales to Spurs at knock down prices. If the man wants to salve his conscience, let him - we don't have to be grateful. We have more than paid for 0'Hara by letting kranjcar and Crouch go cheap.

The best of an average, untried bunch. Hoping the very obvious lack of top notch quality will be replaced with hard graft & a lot of fingers crossed!

Dindane is Hart's best signing for me.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
