Kranjcar completes Spurs move

Niko Kranjcar has now officially completed his move to Spurs.

Peter Storrie, talking to The Pompey Site, says that he is sorry to see him leave but we could not stand in his way with little time on his contract.

Of course the Croatian is seen as our own creative influence from midfield so many will be outraged at this departure - but it is all very well being this player but if you are not creating you are worthless really!

How often does he fail to beat that first man from a free kick or a corner? And for every blinding free kick that he scores he put another 20 into the wall well over the bar or wide.

Do not get me wrong the guy is a quality footballer, but for me we just have not seen enough of this over the years and as previously said 'passengers' are not what we can afford this season.

Again, as previously said the pedestal that he is put on by all, not just some, opposing fans never ceases to amaze me - I have seen him dismantle international teams, including England, but he just has not done it on a consistent basis for Pompey and that is why, for me, I will not miss him that much...

I would be disappointed if the talk of a fee as low as £3m were true though, although I would be amazed if this was not knocking off the money that we owe Spurs for our recent captures from them?

just read some of his comments and he said after having a great team and winning the FA cup their is only david james left so he felt he needed to leave because you guys haven't strengthened enough.who can blame the guy i mean would anyone really stay if they were in his shoes.he will be good for us and harry will get the best out of him.2.5 mil is nothing and even though it's great for us i really feel sorry for you guys.
dwight schrute
Doubt o'hara will be going back now. He'll be even further down the pecking order. At least now the window is shut ******** spurs cant rob anymore of our players. not that they'd want to...
SUAC51
Totally agree rug. Not enough end product but a good footballer. Thanks, goodbye!
Pompeyscum
tragic.

Cherry bye!
.andrew.
Dwight, you're welcome to him. All will become apparent and I am sure he will split opinion at the Lane also! Just keep him away from the Pies and he may stay fit !
BarneyArmy
bout time i was getting worried he wouldn't leave and we'd have to accomdate him in the team!
pompeym@
I think most pompey fans would agree he was awesome in his first two seasons in england, if harry can recover that form then at the price we got him it looks a snip.
spurfect one
only thing with Niko was he was a bit of a square peg, undoubted talent, but it was always a case of where do you play him?
paultsmouth
And he is cup-tied for Carling!
paultsmouth
Well as much as i've moaned about the man's input lately; can't blame him for wanting to go. He has a chance (a good one) of a trophy and Europe, thats got to be more enticing than a scrap for points at the wrong end of the table.
pentonpompey
Dwight actually we still have Hermann, Kanu and Utaka left from the Cup final team as well.
And this news will make Chix happy.
eastneydave
The Spuds official site says they're "now in a position to confirm" we've signed Boateng. I guess this means Krank's fee was £2.5m plus Boateng i.e. £6.5m. Which is better than nothing. Which in turn is better than Krank on some occasions.
Pompeysweden
no room for attacking midfielders in our team............
foggybronze
I aint bovvered! Lazy overweight spoilt piece of poo! Bet he bloody plays better now tho, but one thing that will still be *****e, his dead ball delivery.......pathetic!
pompey4me
Completely agree, he's a good player, just not for pompey anymore. He'll probably be much better for spurs, unfortunately. also agree with SUAC51, they wont want any of our players now.. or maybe redknapp will now want kaboul back at spurs! I think he's just doing it for fun now.
BallGirl
Just noticed this in his interview: "although it is true that contact with Tottenham was here for a long time," he said. Tapping up - you're having a laugh!
NorfolknBlue
Oh well we can now start planning life out of the Premiership and trips to Barnsley. We really don't have much talent left do we. Redknapp has proceeded to dismantle us like a pack of cards. I am glad I am living in Australia and not at the Tottenham game next month, because I reckon he is going to cop a gobfull !*#$*** muppet.

Now now Pompey fans, enough of the sour grapes. Uncle Harry came back like a messiah built you a quality team, won you the FA Cup, got you into Europe and a very credible finish in the league. Sasha's (dads) funding dried up and Harry saw the writing on the wall. He left providing you with a fantastic compensation package and provided ongoing funding by purchasing various assets and this money has been used to keep you out of administration until such a time as Dr Goats (very very) lomg winded take over finally came about. In ten years time you will look back at Harry The Great's achievements and actions and erect a 20 foot bronze statue of the man at the southern end of Fratton and provide keys to the city. Now all shout Hail Harry the great man.
TeddyLyon
Can't see it, myself. Be something to throw bottles at, I suppose.
Et_tu_Pompeii
Teddy theyve already given him that honour unfortunately, I wouldnt have give him the keys to our s-h-i-thouse! Most of what u wrote is true so no sour grapes, apart from the bronze statue, I think we've got more chance of a Fatt Le Tissier!
Super Bock 1898
Good luck to Nico, Harry always was going to sign him, it was just a matter of when and how the deal would be structured. We get Boetang and O'Hara, so lets just move forward and leave the Spuds to get on with their season.
Owenspompey
he should have left he is good but not what we need spurs need to stop robbing our players the cheekey gits !!
pompeyitup
Redknapp won't get the best out Nico because he will insist playing him left mid, where he does not have the pace, or left foot to cross the ball, you need to play him in free role to get the best out of him, witch we could not always afford to do
pompeyyong
I see here some negative comments about Niko, thats not ok, he isn't only who left Pompay, Harry loves him and need him in bigger club. He play well last year, this year not so good, but he didn't have other players to play something. He have nice touch, pass (but with who), Muntari is ok player, big fighter, but without brain and ect. He is type of player who can create chances for FW with dribling and pass but he need have FW. Last year when Pompay was under Harry command and with all players he was great. Good luck Niko.
andycroat28
And one more thing...Pompay don't have so quality player (not just run all time becouse that isn't everything in football) like Niko. Maybe he is to lazy for England league (maybe for him is better Spanish league), but dribling, passes, free kick, corners he is best in Pompay. If he will play bad in Totenham only then you can say that he is average player.
