Pompey draw Carlisle

The 3rd round draw for the league cup has been made and Pompey's reward for seeing off Hereford in round 2 is a meeting with Carlisle.

We will travel to the league one side with us believing that this gives us a genuine chance to progress into round 4, and this draw does give us a fantastic chance of doing that!

Paul Hart was eyeing a cup run, this chance has started to open up now...

Of course it will not be an easy game but we would be favourites to progress - I have never been to Carlisle so this could be the chance, although it is a hell of a long journey for me...

I have never been to Carlisle either. Nearly did one year but plans cancelled at last minute - we lost 6-0!! Am I glad we changed our minds?

I doubt i'm old enough to remember those bad days! Certainly heard about them though. Not being too harsh on us this year in this comp. Maybe they can do the same in the FA Cup.. :D

Sadly I'm old enough to remember some LONNNNGGG trips back from Carlisle; I do seem to recall a couple of them were pretty good

I wonder if Hart will find some balls and play an attacking formation

I've had some good times in Carlisle!, but surely they should be playing in the Scottish Cup. Civilisation runs out far more south than that!
