SAF claims AAA Ltd are the new owners?

SAF has 'claimed' that Al Fahim Asia Associates Ltd (AAA) are now officially the new owners of Pompey, or at least a statement from his spokesman on Arabianbusiness.com has...

UAE tycoon takes 100% control of Portsmouth FC.

The statement said: 'Devondale Investments, the current owner of Portsmouth FC, and Al Fahim Asia Associates Ltd. (AAA), a company fully owned by Sulaiman Al Fahim, Chairman of the Board of Portsmouth FC, have reached an agreement whereby AAA has become the new sole owner of the Club.

'Sulaiman Al Fahim welcomed this agreement and looks forward to helping the Club build on its impressive history and achieve new successes in the Premier League.

'The Chairman of the Club would like to extend his gratitude to the players, staff and supporters of Portsmouth FC who have shown an extraordinary level of commitment and loyalty to this great Club.'

This is all very well, which if true means that Peter Storrie's 'plan B' has failed, but lets hear something official from The Pompey Site.

Official news is what we need - no more messing around!

This sounds very dodgy to me I'm wondering if the deal has been done behind Storries back,by a man who, i suspect, does not have Pompeys best interests at heart

Well it is in The News, The Gaurdian, and CNN now. Not sure what to make of it as PS has been saying that money will become available in January through his deal? Come on Pompey what is going on.

Whilst I am a bit underwhelmed at the news, nevertheless, we have been stabilised, I suppose. Definitely did not want Al ahim as our new owner, but Thursday was apparently the deadline for the Banks apparently, so beggars can't be choosers. I bet Peter Storrie is feeling a bit underwhelmed himself right now. Could this be the end for him at Pompey?

Jackastorrie has been including SAF for a while so I guess he knew he couldn't do the deal without him. Also what makes yellowcheesemonkey suggest SAF doesn't have Pompey at hart; hart enough to put up 32million of cash up font to guarantee the debt Storrie ran up; still, yet more to come I suspect .

My concern here is that the "official site" has not been used to tell FANS the details first or indeed a "Press Conference" utilised as has been done in the past. Even the "Quay" official mouth piece of Pompey have nothing. If this is how the new owners do business, coupled with the last few months of ridicule, I feel no warm feeling inside that things are going to be improving ! ( I hope I'm wrong ). Also, hope Pompey do NOT get rid of PS, much maligned but undoubtedly has the clubs interest at heart.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the one consistent voice was AlF and his " the take over is progressing" so I think the chap needs a fair chance; I'm a bit surprised about the attitude of people who don't seem to realise the mess the club was truly in

Tony has a point especially if the banks are closing in tomorrow. Could merely be a deflection but then have to agree with Russell that SAF has always played the straight bat that it would go ahead.

Why no official statement now nearly 90 minutes after the SAF statement?

It's hard to get excited about this, after 3 months of what can only be described as a farce. I've mentioned before I couldn't care less who takes over as long as they can provide us with financial stability, and if they have a bit more, then that's a bonus. Saffy fits the bill, and if this is true, I welcome him with open arms.

Well what an anti-climax ! I look forward to the Footy Hour tonight to see if we can put some meat on the bones of the skeleton that is Pompey at present! I think the "Z" shift must be on the press section/web masters. Re-hashing an earlier statement with no clear message to the fans on whats happening, and surely the Chairman can now state that he's the owner, to give it a bit more clout!? I am in no way appeased by these statements and feel the Club and its owners owe us supporters and bit more guidance that this - They are showing about as much leadership as our Club Captain !!!!

well, to be anything but excited would be quite unfair to al fahim. He IS rich, and hopefully he WILL invest. I have nothing to suggest otherwhys. Sasha always said he wouldn't sell to someone who didn't have pompey at hart, and didn't mind selling for less, if it left pompey doing better. If he thought storries consortium would be better for the future of porsmouth city fc, i'm sure he would have sold it to them. One thing I don't like though, is that it's not been released on the official site. still, Sulaimen has untill tuesday next week to prove he means buisness.

Good thing with SAF is he CAN invest, as has the money. He can also invest in a new stadium, and being a property developer, i'd imagine he has many contacts who would come in and develop the stadium & design it. Problem i saw with Storries offer was there were too many people behind the scenes, so many arguments would arise.

I'm bemused by people saying he's rich, there's very little evidence that he has two pence to rub together. If you read through all the statements relating to his business where he claims to of made $2 billion in sales in the first year it doesn't fill you in confidence, he's got down payments on uncompleted properties that he's now asking for more money for, the UAE royal family are apparently going to have to help bail out his company and he's off buying a premier league club. Just cos he's taken all that business doesn't mean he's going to turn a massive profit on it. The fact that the story still isn't on the official site I find odd as well. I really hope i'm wrong but I can't drum up any enthusiasm over this at all. Maybe it will all come good, here's hoping.
