Distin 'expresses desire to leave?'

Distin 'expresses desire to leave?'

Pompey have been rocked by the news that Sylvain Distin has 'expressed a desire to leave' the club.

Paul Hart told The Quay that he had a nasty gash ahead of the league cup win but the club captain is also said to have expressed a desire to leave amid a 'reported' interest from Everton.

Some way for the club captain and actually captain to act isn't it! Why leave it until the end of the transfer window to decide this!

As far as I am concerned 'if' he wants out, let him out as it will not help us one iota keeping him if he does not want to be here - I just wish that he had decided this sooner rather than later, although his showing against Arsenal was not exactly a man that looked like he saw a long-term future at the club...

I had wanted him to leave as I questioned his commitment, then I was happy that he was staying as I felt we needed him, but 'if' - as said - he wants out we need to get him out really do we not?

Defoe has the flu just before he left. Almost certain that Distin is gone now. :( As long as we replace him (take note Hart)!

So long as the takeover goes though in the next day or so, lol!!, we will need a solid central defender to replace him, but not *****TU!!!!!!

LOL, I love the way it blanked his name, I wasn't being rude!!
25/08/2009 22:01:00
oh why did we get rid of craine =/ ffs if we had him i wouldn't feel so bad about losing distin. hmm maybe if we do get the takeover with some nice money we can steal mensah from under sunderlands feet ;D lol... i can dream right?

I said after the Arsenal game that we should cash in on him. His head was down for the whole game and you could see he didn't want to fight for the shirt. Even when there were murmurs of trouble at the club, think this time last season, he was opening his gob about leaving. Good riddance. Where we find a replacement though I don't know.

but agreed rug if he wants out, then get rid but make sure you do it at the right price, everton have money to spend, make them spend it!!!

Not good news. I hope this is not true and just another piece of crap made up by the Sun.

I was shocked we sold Cranie, he wanted first-team football and didn't figure in Hart's plans. I thought a loan would have been better but who am I to make these decisions. As for Distin wanting to leave, if the price is right, let him go. If he doesn't want to play for the club, I don't want him playing for the club. I just we don't let him go for any less than 5 million, as he is a quality player.

No retirement plans

Doyle might have turned 35 recently, which in reality means he's in the final throws of his playing career, but he's not ready to call it a day with Pompey (or otherwise) anytime soon.

Linganzi presence needed

I've liked Rose since he signed in the summer but perhaps the former Oxford midfielder lacks the physicality Pompey sometimes need, which is why Linganzi has come in of late.

Pompey 'sent a message' at Plymouth

I'm still not completely sure if we should see Plymouth as 'two-points dropped?' Although I'm learning towards it being a result Pompey will be happier with than our hosts.
