Sol on the verge of County/Dindane passes medical?

Hopefully when Sol Campbell finally does end up wherever he is ending up, which looks like being Notts County, The Pompey Site will finally be able to give him a 'fitting send off'...

As, apart from a few lines in The News from Peter Storrie to acknowledge that he would not be returning to Pompey we have not really said much about him, and that is a shame as despite the fact that we paid him a lot of money to do what he did the man that lifted the cup for us deserves something, even if it is just a few lines of official recognition from the club.

Like I say I suspect this is waiting until he is confirmed as a player elsewhere, which according to 'growing reports' looks like being with Notts County...

==========

Dindane closes in on Pompey move?

'Reports' from sky sports news are saying that Aruna Dindane has passed his medical with the club so that should be that just about done!

Although until official word comes out nothing is done is it.

It would be nice to get this done today so he can feature tomorrow in the league cup though, but this is starting to look unlikely now...

The main thing is that we are looking like we are about to bring in another player, the only concern is this is another African player - and we will lose a number of these come the African nationals early next year! But hey, lets cross that bridge when we get to it eh.

Am very worried about the Africa Cup. Also, am I right in thinking the FA are about to bring in quotas whereby teams must ave a certain number of British players. I counted one on the pitch the other week - David James.

I am also worried about the African Cup of nations in January in Angola.

Of course we gave Sol a send off in yesterday's Toast but no other thanks from Pompey etc.

Hopefully Sol will get the recognition he deserves from club and fans.

ACN comes after the jan transfer window, so maybe we will get some reinforcements in during that time, as i'd presume the 'takeover saga' will all be finished by then. But thinking about it, most of our players would be offski when Dindane joins & the Zaki deal goes through. Don't panic Mr Mannering!

It's such a shame Sol couldn't have stayed another season here, but I guess it wasn't to be, we do owe him a fantastic send off, don't suppose we'll get the chance, unless we draw Notts Co in one of the cups.

WILSONS british ..

Well at least we are signing Internationals rather than random geezers

we need attacking, creative players. But we also need some quality midfielders.
pompeycarpet
we need an complete midfielder who can put his foot in find a pass and score goals their isnt many around for a good price but what about. KEVIN NOLAN scored again for newcastle on the wkend. or ALAN SMITH plus get gutierez and ameobi.

Stephen Appiah. Clubless for over a year yet he is still Ghana's captain and in good form according to this BBC article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/8203998.stm . He must be hungry for first team action and has to be better than Mullins. He just might be the box to box midfielder we've craved since losing Diarra. I doubt we'd get £7m for him but selling Kranjcar and buying some attacking talent wouldn't be a bad idea. Hameur Bouazza? Free transfer, left winger, quick as *****, cracking shot but a bit livewire.

Even Mullins is British.
Pompey Malta
and of course the 1 cap England International ... Nugent.

HR had Appiah on trial at THFC, but felt he wasnt fit enough... Mullins is Awfull..I would rather have QuassHeeee...Honestly. ANy one hear owt about the Prince coming in to buy us.
plymouth graham
Well I suppose that's the problem if you already have Jenas, Palacios and Huddlestone in midfield. We've got Mullins, Mokoena and Hughes. I reckon Appiah is worth a punt, pay as you play.
