'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A vital week or so for Pompey...

The next week or so is almost a 'make or break' period for Pompey, with several things that need to happen needing to really happen!

Takeover: A takeover at Pompey, or at least the talk of this has been rumbling on for the best part of a quarter of a year! That is hell of a lot of time to be 'talking about something happening.'

Talking on this needs to stop and actions taken - we need this done.

It is thought that this will be announced today, most certainly sometime this week, and early in the week not late... We need this doing then need to start ensuring that we put ourselves on an even playing field and invest in areas that are needed to make us a sustainable club, and not one that will return to this state!

Transfers: The transfer window closes at 5pm a week on Tuesday - before this happens without a shadow of a doubt we need some players to arrive!

There is no point doing this just to boost numbers, which we do need of course, these must be of a decent quality and be better than what we have.

We need some defensive cover but attacking options are what we are crying out for big time!

Hereford: The league cup game is a must win game - defeat and we will hit rock bottom.

Of course it will not be an easy game, I am not expecting this in the least, and it would not make 'everything ok' if we won but we really do need to win this game to boost morale a little and at least give us something to build on going into the game with Citeh on Sunday...

Citeh: This will be a tough, tough game but even if we got beaten - and to be honest this would not be a surprise given the wealth of talent that Mark Hughes can select from - it will be essential that we put on a good performance to give the Fratton Faithful something to at least be inspired by.

Yep, this is a vital week or so for Pompey that we have just entered into - now lets make it a good week or so, as if it is not then a long hard season could become even longer and even harder...

Leyton Orient?....It's all looking too obvious..too obvious to be a true repeat of history...but ithink deep down in the non logical basement of my heart we will be ok and this season will actually turn out to be one of the most enjoyable...

Yes Rug, you are right. We don't just want pairs of legs, we want (and need) some quality players. I predict Dindane and Zaki for starters - but we need more.

yea, but i have to admit i'm almost dreading this week, i think IF the deal goes through today i'll feel alot better about it and we can finally start this transfer window lol

Man this has been a stressful month!! Its not easy from over here in NZ, I keep abreast of what goes on as well as I can, but the papers and other editorials that have appeared in the last couple of months have been a nightmare! It really is a hard job sorting the wheat from the chaff. We do need some players, some talented players, players who are willing to give their all for the team, we are woefully short at the present time and we are going to be in a real pile of strife if some decent signings arent made in this next week. I cant see us making an impression against city either, although the game against the arssse did show some small glimmers of hope! I have my fingers firmly crossed for a swift reseloution to this takeover drama, I just hope whoever it is that finally takes over has the means to get our glorious club back onto an even keel. PUP!

I agree graham, this is going to be a good season. We look good (performances) and things can only get better when everything is wrong! Something that will happen for sure is, that us, Villa and Everton get the pace needed to climb up the table.

I'm hoping that the deal will be completed soon, but today (Monday) is a bit optimistic. But with the countdown clock to the end of the window already ticking away on SSN, sooner rather than later please Uncle Peter. And things will slowly start to get better, even though it might take a little while. As for Hereford, OF COURSE we'll beat them. They're Hereford!
