Hart and James on Birmingham defeat

Paul Hart felt that the penalty that cost us defeat at Birmingham last night was 'harsh' and once again missed chances, although we had few, also cost us. Those that we did have were very good and we must take these. He also said that we were 'wasteful in possession' but other than that he had few complaints...

See Hart's thoughts on this, and more, in this sky sports video below.

David James is another that also thought he was 'hard done by' with the penalty decision against him, and also felt we were hard done by as a team to be beaten.

See James' thoughts about the penalty, his 'wonder save', how he thought we performed, the game in general and the latest takeover talks in this sky sports video below.

All in all we were poor, but then again so were Birmingham!

These really are the games that we cannot afford to lose though, so this is a big kick in the nuts even this early in the season. If you set up to 'take a point' a point is what you must come away with.

Maybe the penalty was harsh, and maybe had it been for us it would not have been given, but the simple fact of the matter is it was and no amount of 'bemoaning it' will alter this - we were beaten, we now dust ourselves down and move on, but just hope not to be 'seriously spanked' at Arsenal on Saturday...

We must be looking to bring in some players, no more talking about it do it, and attacking players at that, and fast - no more defensive negative players Mr Hart!

So, it is now over to you Peter Storrie, SAF, Sacha and/or the rest or whoever is going to be doing this! The clock is ticking...

As I said on another thread, these excuses reflect badly on us but highlight that Hart's "strategy" (for want of a better word) is merely increasing the likelihood of this sort of outcome. W can make our own good luck with postive and imaginative play, not by slugging long balls up to Fred and by fannying around in midfield. On Sat and also last night, I lost count of the times when two players were going for the same ball and obviously not communicating.

thought it was a clear penalty, can't see how DJ can have any real complaints to be honest.

lol, no, don't think there ever will be eastneydave, for some the hatred if something to behold, to be fair I just can't be bothered to get sucked into all that, hate is too tiring an emotion! lol
The Fear
Worrying that Hart is not recognising what a poor performance it was. If that's what happens against another poor side, what on earth is going to happen against Arsenal on Saturday?

I was hoping to win. It is vital to win games like these we lost. As early as it is, we are in trouble already.
