SAF's takeover of Pompey has (according to the media reports anyway) been on and off more times that Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Madrid...and we all know how that one played out eventually!
But can we have a same end result?
Well, in the past day or so we have seen the latest damning - well more damning I guess is fair to say - yet basically, on the whole, bulls**t article that Alan Nixon wrote for the Mirror - so much of that were blatantly lies as there was 'no chanting against SAF', nor did he 'leave early' nor was he 'unexpected', even if his arrival might have surprised some who he ended up sitting with...
These 'it will not happen' thoughts have again been refuted by SAF's right hand man Ivo Ilic Gabara, who had spoken 'exclusively' to IMScouting yesterday to again reaffirm his intentions saying that the fans impressed him and he will be attending most games this season.
This same 'report' saw 'IMScouting sources understand Sulaiman Al Fahim's long-awaited takeover of Portsmouth will be announced in the next 24 hours.'
That 24-hours is almost up, although to be fair SAF and/or Gabara never put a time scale on things, and also to be fair they never have really have they...
'Should' this finally come about - although within that 24-hours seems highly unlikely, although I am told that IMScouting is reliable (even if not with timings), then someone is going to have egg on their face but now we are very, and I mean very much at the point where actions speak louder than words!
One thing that I do wish SAF, or his people at least, would do is speak to the fans through the club officially or at least sky sports new or the BBC but constantly going through Arabian press and things like IMScouting, even if trustworthy, does not really help that much - well as much as these would.
The fact that Gabara spoke to sky sports news on Monday is a step in the right direction for me - I believe that he also spoke to TalkSport as well today, although they were 'less than convinced' by him apparently and said they wanted to speak to Peter Storrie as Gabara had, although I did not hear, apparently said that he was the man to talk to as to why players are continuing to be sold and the like...
It is said that SAF will be at Birmingham tomorrow and Arsenal at the weekend, as he will be Citeh at the end of the month when they come to Fratton. With it also said that he also feels our 'frustrations' and is attending to show solidarity with the fans.
I honestly do not know what to think, or believe anymore - what I do know is we seem very close to the point where things will turn nasty, things looks 'uncomfortable' in the directors box at the weekend and a few blows are starting to be landed by both 'fractions', who you would like to be united, but clearly they are not though!
I am still convinced something will happen, but must admit I was always at the I will believe the 'will happen in the next 24-hours' thoughts if/when I saw them... I would imagine most feel the same now? Like I say though, to be fair no one from the SAF side of things ever said it was happening within those 24-hours.
The clock is ticking, if we are doing this deal lets do it! If not lets hear why things are being held up, who or what is to blame...
It might mean that the 'plan B' that Storrie has in mind does not go through, but if plan A is our best bet lets do this. That said whatever plan, be that A, B, C or X lets just get it done already eh...
But whatever we do lets do what is best for Portsmouth Football Club and the fans, not what is best for Storrie, SAF or even Sacha! If all care about Pompey, the fans and our future as much as they claim lets find some compromise and make this happen and stop making us look the shambles we are often portrayed as being in the media, even if a large amount of this is b******s!
