'If It's Football, It's Vital'

So, SAF did turn up!

As this week went on SAF was making more and more noises that he would be turning up at Fratton to watch us take on Fulham - and he did, as we were unluckily beaten 1-0.

The 'prospective owner' of Pompey - this has been the case for a long time now - followed up Friday's claims, where he is 'said' to have said that he was going to receive a £100m bonus that would mean Amr Zaki and Jonas Gutierrez would arrive as part of his takeover and that he would be at Fratton with the actual appearance.

Myself, Chix and Dave, who were treated to the 'hospitality treatment' - which I must say was enjoyable, more so than I expected the game was a bit unusual though not sitting in your usual place - had been told that SAF was due to be at the game today but even at around 1.30ish on Saturday it was not 'officially known' if he would be. Although we were then told a little later by Chix, who was told by someone on the gate, that he had arrived...

So, decked out in his white jacket, SAF sat alongside Peter Storrie, who along with Paul Hart, had seemingly put a 'big question mark' - well even bigger I guess - alongside his takeover but leaving the door open to other possible groups looking to come in?

After the game SAF was signing autographs for people and chatting with them, with him telling pompey4me 'hopefully', when he asked 'are you going to be taking over Pompey'...

The feeling around the club seemed one that something is certainly happening - although this is not really a surprise as we here on Vital Pompey have always felt it would. I still would not be surprised to see this happen after the transfer window shuts in all honesty, but if we could do it before - and the sooner the better - that would be a 'big' bonus!

If it will be SAF that is the one taking over now is questionable, or is it...

What a massive turn around by Hart, on Solent it was " no" to the takeover then to sky and others before the game he was quoted as "100% certain it would happen" the second hand news from our usual Newcomen arms pub expert afterwards said the press were " incredulous"

Personally I was more concerned about Harts formation and inability to see and make decisions about what 16,000 Pompey fans could see. I guess that will be a topic somewhere else. Now how to avoid everybody and any paper until Tuesday?
russellm
Yes very surprised he turned up, especially after what was said at the Radio Solent Forum. Still think time is against us & even the 2 names mentioned won't be enough if the crap tactics are in place.

I've just added a picture I had with him in the albums. He said to me that he hoped to buy the club.

Russellm - what's happening Tuesday?

If he hadn't turned up it would have sent the tongues wagging even more about the deal being off, it's just keeping everyone on side while we wait and wait and wait. Is it true he was late having been caught in traffic? Imagine being in a traffic jam on the Eastern Road and seeing SAF in the car next to you.
tracyc
u say that one of my best memorys was in my car in jam on eastern road all of us with cans in our hand even the driver really sunny day and as the two lanes merg to one their was a merc next to us with geroge best and his son in it one of my mates hands him a can out the window. he thought that was so funny.

Gamdor, there will be no more game reports; I hate Reading the reports when we lose; this morning I even cancelled our regular Sunday times, the boss she ain't happy but I can't face it
russellm
