Does being seeded affect the draw in any way?
PompeyFrippy
I bet nobody can guess who I would like us to get drawn against. A local side.. who wear striped shirts ..
Chix
Frippy .. I believe (but would need to check) that all it means at this stage is that you can not be drawn against another seeded team..
Chix
Leeds or Southampton please!
.Andrew.
Scummers at home would be brilliant. And i dont think being seeded is a big deal cos if you look every prem team is lol
PompeyFcMad
Oh yes that would be fun if we draw the deckchair wearers! I suppose they have one pot with the seeded teams and another with the unseeded - but then not sure how they decide who's at home and who's away?
tracyc
I see, should make it a lot easier to get to round 3 then.
PompeyFrippy
i'd say scummers but looking at our squad.. i'd be hesitant. .. lol

Chix is only trying to build us up Mad. This is a competition we have not had a run in for some time. I fancy Accrington Stanley!! Who are they?
eastneydave
Whoever we get, I reckon we'll put out a reserve/youth side
UKTony
I can't see us playing a decent side in the carling cup. Although to be honest, i can't see us playing a decent side in the league either - and with the complete lack of players in our current squad, we won't exactly have much choice!
pompeycarpet
Now call me odd but I still see the Carling Cup as a route to Wembley and because most Premiership teams play a weakened side I'd go for it ... What have we got to lose ?.. bring it on I say..
Chix
Totally agree with carpet. This cup tends to hinder the very important league matches, either side of these games. Without a squad of any real depth, it smells of an embarrassing defeat to Port Vale!!!
storagematt
Right now, our weakened team and first team look decidedly similar. I think a decent cup run would be a nice change from some dicey league form. This is meant as a realistic view rather than negative. I still think that we can hold till Christmas and inject new blood to get us clear in January.

Hope we get a good run in this comp, it could be our only way of getting to wembley and into europe.
PompeyFcMad
scummers all day long away ¬!!!!

http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/News/CarlingCupNews/0,,10794~1752716,00.html hereford utd it is then at home .. would like to see the club cut ticket prices for the carling cup games too £10 and give something back to the fans.. plus if they charge £20 + to see pompey youth play. we will have a poor attendance. £10 mite get a big crowd.
pompeyhussler
Moooooooo! (just getting in a Herefordian frame of mind)
hammersmithblue
When's it going to be? Tues 25 or Weds 26th?
hammersmithblue

Chix
