Pompey visit Gosport tonight.

A last minute friendly has been arranged by Pompey at Privett Park, Gosport tonight kick off is at 7.45.

It had been rumoured that a Middle East side were going to play a closed doors friendly at Fratton Park yesterday but this was cancelled over the weekend and Gosport a club with strong ties to Pompey jumped at the chance to entertain their Premier League neighbours.

Niemi debut

As I started to write this article the Official Site has just published that Antii Niemi will make his first appearance for the club and the rest of the squad will be made up of the development squad under Guy Whittingham including five players who travelled to Guimaraes last week.

The squad is Niemi, Hurst, Sowah, Ward, Wilkinson, Pack, Cuvelier, Kilbey, Mahoto, du Chattelier, Ritchie, Cowan-Hall, Subotic.

Prices are £10 for adults and £5 concessions - all pay on the gate as no tickets are available in advance.

Directions

For those who want to know how to get to Privett Park. The club have provided me with this -

Leave the M27 at junction 11 and follow the signs 'A32 Gosport'. After approximately four miles you will reach two roundabouts in quick succession. Go straight ahead at the first and take the third exit (signposted 'Alverstoke, Stokes Bay, Privett Park') at the second. Follow this road (Military Road) until reaching the roundabout at the Cocked Hat pub. Take the first exit into Privett Road. The ground is signposted on the left after 300 yards.
Parking is available for approximately 40 vehicles. On street parking is available but we would as you to park considerately and respect our neighbours. Please do not block driveways.

From Portsmouth cross the harbour by the regular ferry service which departs from the Gosport Ferry pontoon immediately adjacent the railway station (£2.30 return).
Gosport Bus Station is situated alongside the Gosport pontoon and services 34 and 72 pass within yards of the ground (one bus on each service per hour). The journey time from the bus station to Privett Park is approximately ten minutes. If you are fit you can walk!!

If anyone is going, why not write a report and I will publish it for you.

If you can write a report it would be great but do not use the link next to my name. Just say so here and I will get in touch.

Niemi must be twice as old as some of those players!!!
jim4pompey
Might even be three times!!
eastneydave
is it on the quay???
pompeyhussler
It is not on their schedule - too short notice I expect.
eastneydave
Doubt they'll do the commentary, maybe updates throughout the match instead.
PompeyFrippy
cant we do minute by minute text commentary on here from Chix's blackberry?
jim4pompey
Dad in goal, kids on the pith!!!! for all those who are going, enjoy!!!

It's a reserve match, so I doubt the quay will be covering it. No doubt the OS will have a report and possible the snooze?
pros7
it is on the quay just seen site.. plus we have signed that rightback/rightwinger on year loan
pompeyhussler
have we or is it rumoured? plus... how does one get the quay when not in the pompey area.... eh?
jim4pompey
Can you not get it via the website? I never believe we have signed someone until I have seen it on the OS but hopefully the Quay are correct
pros7
im out of the area aswell working in chichester and cant get the quay here maybe this was one of the reasons they didnt want to offer the quay the rights and thought pfc could get the games broadcasted to a wider area therefor get more people listing to pompey and maybe become suporters of this great club..
pompeyhussler
You can listen to the Quay via their website, I've done it before when on the computer and too lazy to put the radio on as well. www.quayradio.com then scroll down the bottom of the page and you see the icon to listen live (don't know if it works if you're overseas though). And the football hours are coming back!!!!
tracyc

intrestingly, although the quay are broadcasting the game, pfc tv are not (as they did last season). Is this a permanant change that I just hadn't heard about, or just for this game?
