No Kidding!

It has officially been confirmed that Brian Kidd will not be continuing his partnership with Hart, it has been in doubt all Summer, but Brian Kidd has worked in the North nearly all his career,he had a brief spell as a Gooner as a player but has coached and managed his whole career in the Northern counties.

It is believed Pompey offered him the chance to work 3 days a week at fratton and spend the rest of the time at home, but with young Grandchildren in the Manchester area, he declined and will spend the remainder of his footballing career as a number 2 in the grim North.

Let's just say I'm really dissapointed about Kidd not coming back. Hart needs a number two pretty dam quick, but who? It needs to be a tactition because Harty just hasn't got it in that department. The Rangers game will be interesting that's for sure. What's the bets on 451?
cornypomp
this is a sucker punch he to be honest kept us up last year.He will join ipswich with keano
Football_Casual
It'll say something if he does go to Ipswich - it's not much easier to get to than Pompey from the North West.
NorfolknBlue
Norfolk, I'd say even worse!, Can't see that happening...

What is it with all the 4-5-1 talk? Can't people see that was a formation to keep us up last year, Ok it wasn't pretty but it did the job with the players available. I don't think for one minute it was Paul Harts prefered formation just one forced on him by circumstances. This season will be tough but if 4-5-1 is what it takes to keep us up then thats what it needs to be. I'd love to see Pompey go out and throw the kitchen sink at the oposition but until this damn takeover is finalised and some money put in we'll just need to get the job done.

A real shame but we must keep looking for that strong number two to PH!!

This is another blow - you wonder how much more we can take. I thought Kidd was a great addition to the club, and had a huge part to play in Hart keeping us up. Can only say Thank you Brian, and good luck with whatever you do next.

Ipswich is the sphincter of England (and just to get this clear, despite the geographical discomfort, Soton is the haemorrhoid on the sphincter of England). In-laws are from Ipswich and a more hateful s***hole I have yet to visit and that INCLUDES Reading town centre.

HSB on Geography .. I want more. As for Brian Kidd its a real shame but not totally unexpected but as most of you have said we need a strong number two but realsiticaly who is gonna want the job..It's got 'internally filled' written all over it .. We hae no money to attract payers let alone coached .. Expect Guy Whittingham or David Coles to step forward..

I really am gutted about this. He needs a lot more tactical nouse help than Redknapp ever did so an Adams type no.2 is simply not going to work. I here Ian Woan is lined up for it... but this is as big a blow as any pf the pother player losses given the experience we're going to need to keep us in the prem.
jim4pompey
Well, he did his bit when it mattered. We have to acknowledge that. Yes it's shame he ain't staying for longer & that is his choice. Thank you BK.
storagematt
agreed matt - but we need a no,2 - PH needs a no.2 Trust me - at the top you need someone to confide in, give you good ideas and tell you're right once in a while otherwise it gets damned miserable and lonely at the top.
