Still time to come along...

After checking my email this afternoon I found that there was one that was advertising the fact that tickets, unsurprisingly enough, are still available for the Rangers game tomorrow - and you can pay on the day.

This morning I was told that around 9,000-10,000 tickets had been sold, which is not actually that bad! With a good weather forecast predicted for tomorrow the club hope that some 2,000-3,000 more might decide to come alone, so we could be looking at a pretty healthy crowd of 12,000 or so, at least...

I was not going to go personally, but this was never because I 'could not be arsed' or 'would not pay the money being asked' - granted I felt this slightly higher than it maybe should have been, but it was always more because I just could not justify paying £20 on top of train fares of around £30-£40 mark. £50-£60 for a pre-season game just was not an option!

My main draw for wanting to attend this game?

Of course it is Pompey back at Fratton, but Pedro Mendes back at Fratton is what appeals to me more than anything - the last words that I uttered to him as I shook his hand in a drunken state in pre-season last season were 'you're a legend Pedro', tomorrow gives me - and everyone else - the chance to express this to him again.

One of my mates works for the trains, so as I will be going with him this significantly reduces my travel costs, so I will be there.

So, all being well I will see plenty of you at the Milton Arms tomorrow?

My only problem is as my train 'might' not arrive at Fratton until 1.30ish, maybe later, by the time I have queued for tickets this might not leave me much time to make it down for a pint, or so?

All being well I can make an early connection to arrive much earlier...
