Mvuemba's contract cancelled

In a brief statement at the end of the article announcing Antti Niemi's arrival at Fratton The Pompey Site confirmed the departure of Arnold Mvuemba.

He has left the club after his contract was ended early: 'Meanwhile, Arnold Mvuemba has left Pompey after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.'

It is a shame, but not unexpected really is it - I thought he had left to join that French side, Lorient was it, already...

To be fair, although he did not really get much of a chance last season - or prior to that really - I think we can safely say that Mvuemba has not developed into the player he 'looked' like he was going to at one stage.

I wish him well though, lets just hope he does not come back to haunt us in the future or go onto become 'the world-beater' he might have once threatened to be...

I think it is a shame as I think he could have possibly stepped up this season

A line at the bottom of a statement about somebody else .. is that they way we treat players these days.. Arnold .. On behlaf of Portsmouth Supporters I apologise for the way our club have treated you upon your departure and would like to wish you ..Good Luck
Chix
did anyone see a certain James Keene scored 2 goals for IFK Gotherberg last night as they knocked Braga out of the Euopa League 4-1 on agg .....

agree that putting a two line, basic '2 fingered salute' to mvuemba is disgusting and inexcuseable - arnie desered, well anyone does, better than that...
pompeyrug
I'm with Chix and Gray on this one, we treated him in such a shabby way, And hes not better than Bopp? Do me a F**king favour!!!
pentonpompey
i do not know if arnie would have come good this season, i had always hoped he would but on the whole with the chances he has been given he has not done anywhere near enough...problem is it is hard to come in here and there isnt it, i think his confidence was ripped apart by jamie's dad and maybe he was not given enough support by adams and without a doubt enough of a chance by hart.

bopp beatern that mvuemba? not a chance! altho to be fair has anyone, well bar pompey by releasing him and 'probably' signing bopp, said he was...
pompeyrug
Well Paul Hart must think so Rug....Or else...Or ...Ummmmm....well....he just must think so....What have we done to deserve this????
pentonpompey
nothing that we as supporters have done, more to the point what the 'club' and i mean milan - despite saving us, sacha, storrie and jamie's dad did...
i still think the mvuemba decision was made long ago, the timing and the way we did it sucks tho doesnt it!
pompeyrug
better than bopp so what is this tw*t of a manager/ management team thinking

Regarding the announcment I am with you. I recall when Djimi Traore was loaned, we had a whole article on the Official site. Arnie scored in a European competition, and Traore was nowhere near that for us. I do not mind him leaving us. He offered little, even if he played little. Good luck to him!

Have to say that Mvuemba for me never offerred a great optimism that he would shine in the middle of the park, but he certainly offers as much as muggins, and far more than bopp on presaeson evidence! Pray up Pompey, Pompey Pray Up cos we're gonna need the power of prayer to survive this.
wakey
All the best to him but the experience here was underwhelming to say the least.

Is it just me or didn't we lose Mvuemba about a month ago. Came as a bit of a shock to me today that we lost him (again). Is it really that bad that we're losing players twice?
PompeyFrippy
To be honest I can't keep up with it all. I thought Arnie had gone out for a trial or loan to Lorient. It has been shabbily handled though. And don't get me going on the Bopp comparisons, I'll blow a fuse and a gasket! Arnie needed a bit more playing time, but it's history now and I do wish him well, he was pretty ok in my book.
