Mvuemba's contract cancelled

Mvuemba's contract cancelled

In a brief statement at the end of the article announcing Antti Niemi's arrival at Fratton The Pompey Site confirmed the departure of Arnold Mvuemba.

He has left the club after his contract was ended early: 'Meanwhile, Arnold Mvuemba has left Pompey after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.'

It is a shame, but not unexpected really is it - I thought he had left to join that French side, Lorient was it, already...

To be fair, although he did not really get much of a chance last season - or prior to that really - I think we can safely say that Mvuemba has not developed into the player he 'looked' like he was going to at one stage.

I wish him well though, lets just hope he does not come back to haunt us in the future or go onto become 'the world-beater' he might have once threatened to be...

I think it is a shame as I think he could have possibly stepped up this season

agree that putting a two line, basic '2 fingered salute' to mvuemba is disgusting and inexcuseable - arnie desered, well anyone does, better than that...

i do not know if arnie would have come good this season, i had always hoped he would but on the whole with the chances he has been given he has not done anywhere near enough...problem is it is hard to come in here and there isnt it, i think his confidence was ripped apart by jamie's dad and maybe he was not given enough support by adams and without a doubt enough of a chance by hart.

bopp beatern that mvuemba? not a chance! altho to be fair has anyone, well bar pompey by releasing him and 'probably' signing bopp, said he was...

nothing that we as supporters have done, more to the point what the 'club' and i mean milan - despite saving us, sacha, storrie and jamie's dad did...
i still think the mvuemba decision was made long ago, the timing and the way we did it sucks tho doesnt it!

Regarding the announcment I am with you. I recall when Djimi Traore was loaned, we had a whole article on the Official site. Arnie scored in a European competition, and Traore was nowhere near that for us. I do not mind him leaving us. He offered little, even if he played little. Good luck to him!

Northampton (h) - Securing home advantage?

Some could view this as a 'dead rubber!' It isn't as Champions Northampton will want to end on a high and Pompey will want 'an advantage' against Plymouth in the play-offs. Right?

Pompey MotM at Hartlepool

Pompey went into the penultimate game with a slim chance of a top 3 finish. A 2-0 win at Hartlepool saw the Blues do what we needed but wins for others ended those chances.

An emergency loan arrival of a goalie has been ruled out by the Football League but this doesn't mean a free agent cannot be signed by Pompey should a suitable option be found?
