Deal for Bopp? No Deal for M'Bami!

Deal for Bopp? No Deal for M'Bami!

Good god, I know we need players but the thought that Eugen Bopp is going to be offered a deal but Modeste M'Bami is not is almost laughable, if not frightening...

Whilst Paul Hart has not confirmed that Bopp is getting a deal he has told The News that 'Bopp is still here and has done quite well', so not quite a he will sign statement but an indication in that direction.

M'Bami though is one that Hart has confirmed has now left the club, along with Yassin Moutaouakil: 'Yassin we said no to, although we looked closely at him, and M'Bami we have also said no to.'

Former Marseille midfielder M'Bami - granted another defensive midfielder but surely better than what we have? - is now expected to sign for Bolton...

Bopp, from what I have seen has been absolutely shocking so it is little wonder that Crewe, yep Crewe, released him at the end of last season. All I can say is 'if' he does sign a contract he must have really impressed in training!

Onismor Bhasera and Fabrice Pancrate are still 'options' with the former awaiting news on a work permit application, as well as recovering from a slight injury, with the latter now back in France.

Antti Niemi is also 'said' to be ready to sign his contract today...

I'm sorry but I can't write anymore...I've posted a comment about this on the forum. All I can say is "total disbelief" what an absolutely shocking, stupid decision. What's going on with Hart and Bopp?

I do not understand how can we choose an ex-Crewe (who are Crewe anyway??) and not offer a contract to a free-agent, so big money involved, to a Cameroon International. Cameroon Internationals are good players. Cameroon are not Malta or Andorra for God sake!!

as said in the forum: horrified, absolutely horrified that we have turned away a guy of international quality that has played for marseille for someone released by a league two side at the end of last season...
granted m'bami is another defensive midfielder and bopp a more offensive one but from what i saw m'bami looked ok and looked like he could have done a job... it appears he will now do this at bolton instead!
'if' this is because of money, surely we must have had some idea of what he would have wanted before his 3-week trial?

another sucker punch :-( they just keep on coming

I feel sick.

So this is the kind of rubbish that's made me try to steer clear of Pompey news this week. WWWHHHHYYY!!!!!!

i'm shocked tbh....he must have been asking for a lot of money, if we offered Viduka 30k a week?! Again I've only seen him in youtube and heard stuff from others at the friendlies....So maybe his heart wasn't in it... who knows, Hart has seen him everyday for 3 weeks so he's in a better position to make a judgment call. and tbh, basinas, diop and hughes are all Defensive if we are to require another one it should be of supreme quality... as i rate basinas and diop quite highly.... Bopp though....i really don't know what to think...
07/08/2009 11:53:00
what i would say about bopp is 'at this point in time' nothing has been officially confirmed about him getting a contract has it...
07/08/2009 11:56:00
In the past I've run school football teams and picked disabled and special needs children for the team because it's 'The Right Thing To Do'. Paul Hart has been involved with young footballers recently so maybe he is doing the same type of thing. As long as he doesn't make Bopp captain, let him play in goal til he gets bored then let him be centre forward, and take the penalties and the ball home afterwards.

Absoloute ludicrosity ! (Don't know if that is a real word but it'll do!) I cannot believe that Bopp is still there, and we are releasing a quality alternative. If this is based upon financial constraints, then FFS say so! Bopp might as well be released, because he is poor, very poor, and frankly, having him as cover is no worse than no cover at all. He will either be a drain on our money, being paid to sit in the garden like Mbesuma, or he will be an absoloute liability. I pray that Hart has a brainstorm overnight and starts to get his decisons right, or I will be recalling the dreamy days of the glorious Tony Adams Reign! That said, if Bopp plays tomorrow, he will be one of my Hero's at least for the 90 mnutes of play. COME ON YOU BLUES

Cheap goals and not taking chances

Sums up the Pompey season doesn't it? Pompey, whilst scoring a decent amount, aren't taking enough of our chances with the Blues' soft centre seeing too many 'cheap' goals given away!

MotM in poor Notts County show...Cambridge next

There wasn't too much to cheer from the Notts County defeat was there, well certainly not the 2nd half at Fratton Park but one plus was seen as Amine Linganzi for Pompey.
