Modeste by name modest by nature

Modeste by name modest by nature

Modeste, what a fantastic name eh! Well at the moment Modeste M'Bami seems to be living up to the modest part of his name in reputation...

To be honest I did not really see enough of him over pre-season to judge, but others tell me that he looked pretty good and is worth a punt?

At the moment though, as he told sky sports, he is 'waiting' to see what Pompey are doing with him - which is 'said' to have altered Bolton, not that he is taking much notice: 'I am waiting for the manager to decide, I have heard about interest from other clubs but let's wait and see.

'I can't say anything else.'

Signing for Pompey appears to be what the long-term pre-season trialist wants though: 'I have now been here three weeks and I enjoy it.'

This is one that we are going to have to decide on, surely we would not have taken him on trial if we had not even discussed the possibility of what the deal the Cameroon international would be on if he signed?

If he wants to sign, which appears to be the case then assuming the price is right lets bring him in, as it appears if we do not do so Bolton will try and nip in...

The thing about M'Bami though is he was not one of the names mentioned by Peter Storrie today when talking about targets, I do not know if this is a good or bad thing?

Perhaps he wasn't asked about Modeste. PS is unlikely to give out more information than necessary.

Do we know that the names Storrie talked about were one's he said, or he was replying about. If the Snooze reporter was asking about specific players he may have not mentioned Modeste. Who I think could do a good job!

the guy seems like he wants to sign, so lets do a deal before bolton come in - i know he is another defensively minded player but from what people told me he is worth a pop. if bolton want him that should give us an answer, right?

It seems that we will miss out on a lot of players if they don't sort the takeover out pdq. Asking players or their clubs to wait has already cost us one player according to some reports. I know the money has to come from somewhere but the longer this takeover drags out the worse things will get. We are going to be left with the players nobody else wants because they are a) too old and b) too injury prone, Viduka for example. Other clubs seem to be using us to spot talent for them at the moment which suggests that they at least have a high opinion of Paul Harts ability to spot a good player.

M'bami played for Cameroon, so he isn't a player below level. I like his commitment and I think that he will be a good signing.

Hmm, M'bami or Mullins. Oh curses, we're already paying Mullins.

Surely a trialist won't cost us much? We should get him on board, after all we're close to asking supporters to turn up in their kit just in case.

I have to get used to modest quality as tbh I didn't think he was that great still much better than Mullins.

umm M'bami.. if he is good enough offer him a contract if he is not let him go now and stop keeping the bloke hanging on .. simples...

Chix...have you turned into a meerkat over the close season? Not that I have a problem with that but would be nice to know.
