'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Not 40%, not 50% but Zaki's a 65% possibility...

Arm Zaki is a name that continues to be 'linked' with a move to Pompey and now his agent, Nader Shawqi, has claimed that the odd of the striker joining are up to '65%'...

Speaking on Hayat TV's Al Malaeb Al Yawm show Shawqi is quoted as saying: 'Amr Zaki is close to Portsmouth, there is a 65% possibility of seeing him with them.

'There is another offer from a considerable club in England, but Amr prefers Portsmouth.'

'If' he wants to come to Pompey, Pompey want him to come to Pompey - and we can stump up the readies needed to make this loan deal happen - then lets all stop playing games, lets do less talking about things and see more actions taken to actually do the deal eh...

I was not keen on Zaki arriving but on a loan capacity, even if it is only until January - when I assume he will be off to the African nations anyway - if we can get 5 or 6 really good months out of him that could make a world of difference to our season!

Lets do this already if it is something that is going to happen, although I think it could be a pretty safe bet that someone needs to go out the door before he can come through it...

At last, some precision in the information we get. I would have prefered the probability given to at least 1 decimal place however.
Pompeytim
(lol) Tim .. I was going to ask how he worked out 65% .. is that a 3/1 chance ? All be need now is for Ppoompey to stump us £1,002,017.62p and the deal is as good as done I believe !
Chix
Did you see the money Bent went for? £1,002,017.62p doesn't seem too much if he keeps us in with a chance of a Premier League season, 2010/11. Ah, just heard, Zaki was given too much salad with his Kebab at the Pompey Kebab House last night; The odds have dropped to 62%! Damn.
Et_tu_Pompeii
Hmmmn.....I'm afraid I've got to take issue with your maths there Chix me old mate. That was obviously a hurried calculation. The correct answer I think you'll find is £1,002,001.54p. Obviously you forgot that in-flight meals are no longer free, and the guy's gonna have to eat something on the flight from Egypt.

65%..we are fastly approaching the 99% that Kalinic was to sign before we went to Portugal...I think folks really should smell the coffee...he is not coming...just like kalinic..James is off to the spuds, and Distan will join johnson, utaka and Nugent will both go to Stoke in a joint deal about 5 or 6 mill for the pair..and do realy well for them...And SAF will not buy the club ...it ios all too obvious to me i am affraid...I am not trying to be contrvercial or upset folks..but please look what is happening..Old injured hasbeen players in..end of contract and tallented players out..no investment...The fans are the CUSTOMERS..so the club still needs to keep an advertising campaign going to make us "Keep the Faith"...so its the links wth this player or that player none of which come off...the promices of "SOON"...come on folks ita always soon..a training ground, a new ground this signing otr that...remember TA in the Jan Window....PS has perfected his one trick to appease the fans..tell them its soon..but nothing materialises does it?..Look ant the shi%e we have signed PKey, Niemi, Basinas, and whoever else...PH said that we would see the team we would start the prem campaign with in Portugal...i think he was wrong..because Distan and James and Nuge and Utaka will go..my only doubt is that sadly utaka might stay...remember folks 6 months age i said crouch would go to Spuds

I am sorry Chix m* i know you are trying to whip up some positivity amongst us..but I am a differant Fish. If it was something I could actually affect then i would fully support you in this , but WE-the fans, and as much as i love Pompey, I am not a regular FP attender although if i lived in the homelands i would be- we fans do not and can not affect the board. As citizens of the UK we have more effect on which government rules because we have a vote...not so with Prem football..infact our club is so small even our gatemoney is neglable against the TV money...nuff said time for work to sad and P$$ed oFff to talk any more .God bless my friends - Pompey fans.....someone needs to help

This is basically his agent dragging out the deal to try and get Zaki a better club. It speaks volumes when we can't even close up a loan deal quickly. Looks like we could lose M'Bami to Bolton as well. We should sell a player like Utaka or Nugent so we can fund a handful of free transfers and loan signings.
stillthewhizz
Graham, you really aren't full of the joys of spring, are you? Understand why you feel so down about it all, but like you say, we can't affect it, so we have 2 options - 1) keep the faith & remain positive or 2) be depressed about it all. I prefer the former, but each to their own.
Pompeytim
I am remaining fatalistic with an edge of hysteria there and I am an extremely positive person but I can hear the sound of the toilet chain being yanked...
hammersmithblue
that was not by hammersmithblue at all it was by me pretending to be him.... Ive been to work and seen some people with real life issues which puts pompey supporting in perspective....I am also going to have a punt at 66/1 e/w for pomey to Finnish in the top three without the big 4. I think haet will getthese rejects into a mean lean fighting machine-Kelly's heroes, dirty dozen all rolled into one.....
plymouth graham
Graham .. would a few pints change your mind.. I'll buy 'em .. For one so (normally) cheery you sound so down .. I have my doubts too of course and I'd be lying if I said I didn't .. but I guess not matter what I'll be there .. it might be crap but watching Pompey means more to me (and I know it does to you too) than one season results or a ***** team for a while.. It might be dark but it doesn't mean we have to be depressed about .. It you can't augh at yourself (or Pompey in this case) who can you laugh about!
Chix
rug... sounds like you're getting as desperate as I am. 12 months ago knowing now what we do about Zaki... would you be so keen?
