'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Que sera sera...

Right, Monday and Tuesday - in particular - have been further rollercoaster rides for Pompey fans. We never have a dull moment, good or bad do we; that much we can say about Pompey. There is always 'something' happening!

I know I might be foolish but I still maintain my belief that 'if' we can conclude the deal with SAF then this will be for the best, in our long-term future, but come what may takeover or no takeover lets back the side - like the title says, 'que sera sera'...

What I would say is, like the appointment of Paul Hart or not, lets give him full support as well - to be fair the guy has his arms well and truly tied!

Something that I would preach to him, and hope that he does do, is - players permitting - play a 4-4-2 formation at home, fair enough 4-5-1 away, and at least have a go. I would rather us beaten, and if need be severely spanked, so long as we have had a go!

All we can now do is, sit, hope and wait for the best but whatever happens lets remember, as I - and others - have said repeatedly we are 'Pompey 'til we die', so lets remember that and give it everything to potentially prove doubters wrong once again!

It is time to stand up and be counted, lets show the world once again just why Pompey fans are so renowned and make Fratton that Fortress that no one, and I mean no one likes coming to...

For me, the Rangers match has been on and off a dozen times already, this week, but I am buying my three tickets and will support the team as usual - and you never know, we just might be surprised. PuP.

that's the spirit Et_tu, exactly what i am talking about and exactly what we need...
as for myself and going to rangers? for those of you that do not know i live in devon, i do not drive so i have to rely on trains and/or others going to get a lift - as i decided several weeks back i couldnt justify the costs of the weekend away for pre-season i decided not to go long ago... as with any pompey game, the closer it gets the more i want to go - as much as i want to i still cannot justify it. just have to hope that others have decided they can still afford it after portugal? come what may tho for every home game, rain or shine, win or lose i will be there again.

I'm still very hopefully the deal will go through shortly. All this negative press is what the press love to do, they don't want to hear positives. I'm a firm believer that by the end of this month we'll have a solid squad with more quality on the way in January.

Well of course we can & will support the team but any frustrations fans have will come out in many ways. If we field a team that gets slaughtered on a regular basis, then it will only get worse. Since the transfer deadline is the end of the month, it may mean we can sign a few but we may still lose a few more!!!

No matter what I'll be there week in week out - Being a Pompey fan is rarely easy but isn't that what makes us special ? If there is on constant in this mess it is 'us' fans, some of us have known many downs and many ups. some just the more recent ups but at times like the ones we are in now we stick together and get behind the team no mattter what - Let's hear that wall of sound at Fratton, let's make those hairs on the back of our neck stand up, let's not give up even before a ball is kicked - We are Pompey, proud, passionate and above all faithful.

I seriously believe that we see the best of our fans when we have our backs against the wall. When times are good we, like everyone I suppose, get complacent. I fully expect us to put Stoke fans back in their box as the loudest in the Prem this year. (I mean, Stoke??) I am going to adopt the Man City away mentality of the season just gone - as the goals went in, we got louder and louder. Similar to the famous Arsenal game a few years back too I suppose. Let's just not go down without a fight.

I'm going to go and get a ticket for the Rangers match on Saturday today. Might even sit up the Fratton End, God help me!

Looks like the pressure is on the players now as they get *****ed and fight each other. Nugent you should know better!! Hart wanted some fighting spirit well he's got both, not sure what spirit it was though? Just goes from bad to worse.
Mike1954
lets see tim - i remain very much in the 'it will happen', ive waivered a few times but still think it will and think its going to be for the best in the long-term...

I hope so Rug. Was crushed last night, but am still clinging on to some hope today.

From what I understand our debt with the South African bank got put back til the 18th August. Until then I see this as a stand off between Al Fahim and Sascha. I think the DD uncovered alot of hidden debts within the club which is why Fahim is holding out for a better price and on the other side Sascha wants to recoup a certain amount before he leaves. Both know they only have until the 18th August so we should know something by the end of next week. Who will back down first? On the flipside of that Al Fahim's co-investors could have been put off by the FAPPT so now he is still looking for further investment before he can finalise the takeover and only has until August 18th. I'm still in the belief that it is my first theory which is correct because I can't see why he would taint his name as a businessman by not seeing this deal through. He is more than likely trying to get the best price for the club and take it from there. PUP

Well weve got this far guys so weve got to hang on in there by our fingernails. That's if we've got any left. A couple actually coming in will raise the spirits no end. We can only speculate as to what's really going on with the money stuff, but SAF must want the club. He will lose one hell of a lot of prestige if this goes #### up. I think yesterday was one big wake-up call to those involved and maybe it will concentrate minds just that little bit more. Here's hoping anyway....
cornypomp
I reckon you are bang on the money there moley. Saffy has smelt blood and is going for the kill. Can't blame him really. Just wish it would hurry up and all be over.
