Reports Of a Robbery At The Valley!

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END

Bloody Charlton, it seems the same every time we play them, go one up, play them off the park and then lose in the last ten minutes, Danny Murphy did the damage at Fratton earlier in the season and Darren Bent and Bryan Hughes did the damage this time.

Pompey were without Lua Lua once again, O’Brien was to replace Stefanovic but injured himself in the warm-up, so Pamarot stepped in, and Hughes replaced the presumably tired Mendes.

Pompey as is more common these days took the game to Charlton and D’Allesandro opened his account with a wonderful left-footed strike to put Pompey on the verge of Premiership safety, but as is so typical of football Charlton scored an undeserved equaliser and then transformed into world-beaters. Darren Bent hit another with time running out and Pompey found three points turn into none. Late headed efforts from Taylor and Karadas never hit the target and Pompey’s fine run was over.

Birmingham and West Brom will no doubt take heart from this defeat, although West Brom could only take a point from Bolton and both the midland outfits sit three points adrift, Birmingham to play Blackburn in their game in hand. Next up is hapless Sunderland at Fratton, defeat is not an option for Pompey now, and hopefully Lua will return along with the talismanic Mendes to snatch the points we need.

Play up Pompey (and Blackburn)

Paul

Lack of defensive technique in my opinion.
FEn_100
true but we defended well until the goal
lmatthews
We defended adequately i thought, but then, your always gonna defend well until you let one in, aint yer. lol
FEn_100
lol true we should have put the game to bed though
lmatthews
I agree.
FEn_100
The cat got a right boot up the arse, out the front door and down the road for that loss.
nelson

Shaved or 'eu naturelle' ?

Benjani may not have scored yet, but he is an important part of the set up, that will be there week in week out. Lua Lua could be a legend, but he done this to us last year, celebrated against scum, out for season. Add on to that his mileria spell, and he may decend from a god to a liability. If he scored 20 goals, he would be fine, but only scoring 6? i can see him having to kick His Own backside, before he gets shipped out in the summer.
Terence
Strange how you support someone who cannot score, but berate someone who does, lol. Although, i tend to agree that, once benji scores, he can be an asset and Lulu can be a liability.
FEn_100
lua lua is a liability but he does make a difference
lmatthews
That is the enigma of lulu, and the headache for the manager.
