I think we'll put out a more experienced team tonight and hopefully have a different ref who is actually watching the same game. Did anyone see Mendes play in the Emirates Cup earlier? My god we could do with him now, if only cry baby Davis had pi**sed off when we tried to sell him he may still be here. I'm glad he's doing well up at Rangers though, there was no doubt that he would really. I reckon he must love playing in blue white and red! PUP

Hi guys, I'm at a mate's house because my laptop has broken. I hate to say it, but yes, I was right about Cardozo. I reckon we could get him on the cheap given that Saviola has joined, but to be honest, if he's impressing in pre-season he may have a shout at the first team. He'll be playing in the Premiership soon though, mark my words!!!

Not impressed by what I could see. Hart hasn't been given any money, so it's not totally his fault. Perhaps he needs an assistant (BK) to give him a few pointers.

lets not be overly harsh on hart - if he was bringing in player after player and still offering nothing fair enough, but while his hands are tied its tough to be that unfair to him, altho actually looking like offering something offensively wouldnt go a miss!

Finnan, Mokoena and Kanu on for Moutouakil, Bopp and Utaka. That should put some more solidity in the middle with Niko and Pancrate wide. I hope.

Look 5-7 players were mentioned we were bringing in,2 so far and the usual pompey dragging there heels on decent players and losing them,you look at the league this year and the likes of Fulham,Sunderland,even bloody wigan are looking better than us.I heard a rumour that paul Harts no 2 would be GR.................

think a couple of sound beatings could be a blessing in disguise. Think about it.... It might just be the wake up call the powers that be need, confirming that our current squad, as a whole, are just not up the the required standard. If we managed to scrape a draw or narrow defeats in Portugal then it would probably give everyone false hope.

pompey bipolar....none of this means anything really, Benfica are a top top side 9 I sound like HR) so that game means nowt...we need some guile and creativity in the middle and another striker, KANU HAS HAD HIS DAY. please, and not another old git, we need a quick one and a strong one, a Dean Ashton/ Kevin Davies type- a young Viduka, and quick sharp type Owen?defoe being prime examples, in the middle of the park a passer and sprayer of the ball- a Mendez- not Basinastoke. at the back we are short of a young quick rb and lb. I think Kaboul and Distan will be fine, over and out

Lets hope some big surprises come. Perhaps when the takeover is complete we will see quality players comes in. If we get Viduka he will be in the treatment room more than on the pitch. Finnan a prime example one game now crocked. If not we are in for a long and hard season, baffles me why this Arab brought us. No money and he expects to stay in the premier???????????????

So would you say youre happy with the team the way it is then pom?We are nowhere near as good as any of the three teams that were relegated last season and we are not as good as the 3 that came up either,I know I am having a bit of a rant but it doesnt take a genius to see that this club is going down.

Agreed 100% we are relegation candidants, no way will that squad compete in fact wpuld say we will get hammered and likely to beat Derby's 11 points. Even if there was money we have two weeks till kick off. Players need time to gel some woulod say a season some would say 3-6 months. We dont have that, by Xmas we could be down. Very sad , from Fa cup winners to this.

yep, i know its looking grim, its looking desperate and everyone can see as things are at the moment its going to be one hell of a struggle but if we decide that we are already down, and will be down by christmas, what is the point in going on?
its hard, even more so as there is a radio silence from the club, but we have got to back the club like only pompey fans can - if we do not do that then we really have not go a prayer!

The reason for carrying on rug is that Portsmouth have to carry on,its a buisness after all,I just dont understand how sascha is taking so much money,17 million fron Johnson,9 from Crouch,I know its pread out over time so why doesnt SaF just pay him off,he is gonna get the money back over that period of time,the Crouch fee is either a Redknapp pay over 35 years deal or,we wanted 12 million,but for cash he is yours for 9.There is a very eerie silence around the corridors of fratton park,the natives are getting restless and SaF might not be getting the great welcome he thinks he is gonna get.

Final word from me.. Even if we now decide to get some DECENT premier quality players...no-one in their right mind would want to sign (unless you are a Viduka or Finnan looking for a years pay at the end of your career).

Oh .. I have to have a final say..about one glimmer of hope I hold out for. If anyone who is owner/manager thought we had a good squad and our team is well managed, he MUST have had a wake up call. As the season hasn't started yet, they have time to get their act together, but I cant see it happening.
