Should Pompey sign Mark Viduka?

'No, Pompey should not sign Mark Viduka', not my vote, yours - although these findings from The Rabbi's poll are thoughts that I would agree with to be honest, although at a push...

Viduka is very much past his prime, for me he passed this a while back so although he would not cost anything, wages aside, I am not sure that I would see the benefits of this so would rather we passed this one up.

There is still time in this transfer window, ok we might not come up with anything, but maybe we will so keeping Viduka on the back burner as a 'last resort' would not be a bad thing, but it would most certainly be on a 'pay as you play' basis for me.

All in all I would rather look elsewhere, but if needs must then we would have to organise something with the 'big man'...

  • What the poll asked - Should Pompey sign Mark Viduka?

  • How you voted - No 61%, I've injured myself answering this poll 21%, Yes 18%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

we have kanu so imagine them 2 sprinting at defenders.

It could work in our favour, defenders feeling sorry for our 'care in the community' strikeforce (I use the term strikeforce loosely) perhaps pass the ball to them if they've not had a kick for a while (like when you take your grandad or 5 year old over the park) If the linesmen are of similar age they might take pity and let them have a headstart in the 'offside stakes'. I'm starting to worry. What's mick Quinn up to these days?

hussler is right Kanu and Viduka will terrorise defences with thier pace. Combined age of seventy, combined goals in a season of seven lol

Kanu and Viduka couldn't play together but I suppose between the two they could link up with Nuge and Utaka for a season. Wages would be high.

i think the club balls up on kanu and forgot about the clause in his contract and kept putting him on as a sub to make him pass the 20 ap. mark. when story realised he thought ***** i gotta give him a new 40k a week contract. oh well. hes still only 31 and has been 31 for 5 years. we dont need kanu anymore hes passed it.

Does anybody remember the Father Ted episode with the gereatric football match?.. I'm worried Ted .. FECK!

No more 30+ strikers please, we have enough in defence.

But the trouble is, if not Viduka, then who are we gonna get?
    tracyc
He's way too young - wiat till next season - when he's matured a bit

    sheringham!!

No. Has already gone with Leeds & Newcastle. A half a season player who is there at the start whilst the sun is out. You lose him for the winter, when he goes back for an Australian summer with his 'injury'. Then comes back for the last hurrah, hoping to be signed up by another club. NO, NO, NO!!!

I've already made my thoughts clear on Viduka in the forum. But despite how we vote and think it's looking increasingly likely that he's gonna be with us this coming season. I agree with Hussler, let's go for Sherringham. Ok he's a bit older than Viduka but at least he doesn't spend half a season on the couch and the other half trying to sweat off the pies....
