Hart is the manager so we back him!

'Paul Hart is the Pompey manager so I will back him', not my vote, yours - although these findings from PFCGino's poll are thoughts that I completely agree with to be honest...

In all honesty I did not want Hart as manager, but simple facts are who else would have taken the job given the constraints, albeit 'potentially' only for a short time, in place?

Answer, no one!

So, technically Hart could have easily said no and gone about the business that he was with the academy side and left it to someone else - but he took the job, and is at least someone familiar with the club and knows the score, so in many ways we must thank him.

He might be 'one dimensional', then again he might not. Forest fans said he played attractive attacking football, so lets at least give the guy a chance to see what he can do with 'his own team' - even if he is still 'guided' somewhat as to who he can and cannot bring in.

We cannot change who the manager is, but at the end of the day we support the club right and not individuals necessarily connected to it, so lets show our support to Portsmouth Football Club and back Pompey and Hart, like I say lets at least give him a chance with his own team.

  • What the poll asked - Are you pleased that Paul Hart is officially our manager next season?

  • How you voted - All that matters is he is so I back him! 64%, No 30%, Yes 6%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

I personally said yes. For the reasons that he WANTED the job, proved he could do what Adams could not with the same set of players/ less than Redknapp had, is obviously up for the fight of keeping us up and knows what he's taking on. The current group of players have always been supportive of him as well in the press.

I agree with the sentiment although I feel he will get about 8 games from the fans to show something, after that he could end up being villified. I must admit I haven't spoken to any Forest fans who said he played attractive football, my extended family up there said it was defensive stuff all the way. They also said he was the model for mini me in those shagtastic films; a touch unfair

possibly.... never crossed my mind as to the likeness. I'd be quite happy with defensive football right now, as long as it's balanced. To be honest, we went on about Redknapp being attacking but he shut up shop against 50% of Prem opposition, especially away and against the top six at home as well. And to be honest most of what was called attacking was actually counter attacking... effective as it was. Let's face it, we were winning more than losing and wouldn't look too carefully at it.

We've had worse managers than him so no matter what just be happy we're in the Premier league for the 7th straight season and we're not going into administration. Atleast the players like him which is most of what being a manager is all about, if the team don't support you, Adams!!!, then you won't get anywhere. Bring on the new season! Play Up Pompey

Hart is not my choice no way no how, however the decision has been made and i will back him until he his no longer at this club and the same applys to the players no matter how bad they maybe LOL

we need for heart to step in and to a job until january, keeping us mid table. then we need for a high profile candidate, capable of attracting big players, who will take us on, bring in 2 or 3 players in january, and finish the season in top six form. i would be more than happy with that for a season

Great stuff Rug. I never heard you comment about Hart like you did! To be honest, I have always backed him (and wrote articles of praise towards him) but I also hoped for a new manager this season. However, it was clear that neither Mancini nor Erikksson wanted the job because they wanted big names. Look at what just happened - we couldn't get Kalinic for a straight £5m paid at once. And Hart has accepted this and is ready to build his team out of nothing. But I wonder, this isn't his team because of the too-many constraints. In the end, I bet that he will succeed as he did last season.

I am disappointed that we have Hart as Manager. However, I will support him as he has taten up the job that others doubtless turned down. I just hope the powers that be are decent with him when he has outlived his usefulness.

i think Hart will show himself to be a good manager, my concern is that he has NO FINANCES.

Look if any PL CLUB had a vacancy, would they consider Hart if he applied. The answer is NO, they wouldn't. So you have to put it into perspective, we have him, we have to support him, unfortunatly, as with many others who have trodden his path, he is going to go the same way. It's inevitable.

I'll back him cos he's the manager of our team but it's not like there's a lot of choice is there. I'm going to need convincing that he actually has a plan to get into the opposing teams half, and by that I don't mean when we swop ends. I also want to see him play Basinas unless we're suddenly flooded with talent. The guy got a raw deal from Hart last year and should have played. So come on Mr Hart...prove to us that your not a one trick donkey!
    cornypomp
If we wanted the likes of Ericsson or Billic, not only would we have to pay them a big salary, but provide a big transfer budget as well, and we aint got it. Like him or not, Hart did the job he had to do keeping us up, and deserves a shot at it. I still think he's just a stooge anyway, until SAF gets more investors and he gets dumped for a bigger name manager. He will do as good a job as anyone else with limited funds - good luck to him, I will get behind him. If he's successful, it means Pompey are successful after all.
