A rare story!!

A rare story!!

The News reports

The right-back was released by Spanish side Espanyol yesterday and becomes a much-needed addition to the Blues.

Pompey have been searching for a right-back since selling Glen Johnson to Liverpool this summer.

Finnan, who has played for the Merseysiders and Fulham, is set to join Pompey on their pre-season trip to Portugal.

The 33 year old has been linked for a while, but is certainly needed in a squad that has been decimated lately by sales. Harry Redknapp's "bare bones" stories look pretty tame by Pompey's standards right now, hopefully the sales will start to dry up now or the team will have to come out to Bob Marley's "exodus" next season.

In other news, reports in the Middle East are bubbling over that Egyptian bad-boy Amir Zaki could be on his way on loan also, well should be good until January when he can go awol anyway!

Breaking News - Portsmouth right-back Steve Finnan has been linked with a move to Hull City... In all seriousness, it's good to see someone come into the club, long may it continue.

I so want to be upbeat, But...I suppose I'll just have to get used to old timers, freebies and cast offs of lower league clubs...Sorry sorry times. There's more money (supposedly) in the Premier League this year than ever. Just as everyone else is is starting to look like Jewel (Google her, she's a singer, poet etc) we're looking more like Amy bloody Whitehouse!!!!!

Yeh, i liked Finnan in the past, but he was a Pool reserve really, and i have worry's about his ability to be effective in the premier Lg..serious doubts, buy PH is not a Mug I think. I would be very happy to have Kalinic, Mc Cormac, And Zaki join, and M.Dabo too

Pompey at Crawley called off

Pompey WILL NOT climb into the top 3 this weekend - whatever Carlisle do - as the game at Crawley has been called off.

Lalkovic heads to Ross County

In a somewhat odd move - admittedly he's not been involved that much - Pompey's former Chelsea & Walsall winger Milan Lalkovic has joined Ross County on loan.

Crawley in doubt

Pompey have the chance to move into the automatic promotion places - if we beat Crawley and Carlisle fail to win - but the elements might rob us of this possibility?
