One moving closer as another moves further away

It is a tale of two former bin dippers this evening, Steve Finnan has moved closer to joining Pompey while Peter Crouch has moved closer to making his exit.

Finnan is someone that Pompey wanted to sign; although it now appears that we are looking more along the lines of taking him on trial? Which I would doubt to be honest, as the suggestion from sky sports has been that he could not join us for this 'trial' until he was released from his contract with Espanyol.

This release has now been confirmed, but with Sunderland, Stoke and Wolves also 'said' to be interested I would imagine if we wanted him on a trial basis first then we would not have a chance...

Crouch on the other hand, as weekend 'reports' had claimed, has moved a step closer to re-joining Spurs with sky sports 'understanding' that an offer of 'around' £10m has been accepted for the striker with discussions ongoing to tie up the deal.

Sunderland, Stoke, Wolves, Pompey. I wonder what will make his mind up?
