Bopp, what is the feeling? This is...

'Lets see him in a few more pre-season games then decide', not my vote, yours - although these findings from the forum poll to determine what we think we should do with Eugen Bopp are thoughts that I tend do agree with, just about, but very much on just about...

I have no problem us looking at Bopp during pre-season, but I would be horrified if we made a decision on his Pompey future based on recent games!

The standard of opposition is nowhere near good enough for a decision to be made, the games in Portugal and against Rangers 'should', in my thinking, be the ones that we base this decision on, that is if he is even given that chance?

Some people think Paul Hart is just 'doing him a favour' and has no intention of giving him a deal? Maybe, as he knows the guy, so...

Although to be honest, based on what I saw against Basingstoke on Saturday if it was down to me there would not be any way a deal would be going his way - and I would worry big time if it was, but, as said lets just wait and see before we jump to conclusions, eh!

  • What the poll asked - Bopp, what is the feeling?

  • How you voted - Lets see him in a few more pre-season games then decide - 14 Votes [60.87%], Not good enough - simple as - 4 Votes [17.39%], Free agent, would not cost anything, worth a look - 3 Votes [13.04%], Not 1st team would be a good squad player - 1 Votes [4.35%], No worse than what we have - 1 Votes [4.35%]

Great song Chix! I read somewhere Hart does want to sign him. Would like to see him play against Benfica and Rangers first! Also if he's cheap and is going to be a squad player with the pressure on him to push for a place, then why not. If he's supposed to replace Crouchie then we're in bigger trouble than we thought.

If Bopp is gonna be replacing Crouchie we're dead in the water. Come to think of it, there's a lad down here in Falmouth who's 6'5" and a bit half/handy, maybe I should see if I can get his number and pass it on to Hart.

kalinic is replacing crouchy, right? plus, and as much as i do like crouchy, the croatian is mobile, has pace and 'could' do the lone striker role with success... goals are what we need and 'if' he can get them that will do me!
bopp must be trialled against the portugese side and rangers before a decision is made, like i say at present i would say no tho - times will be hard, people will think we are a 'sitting duck' but if we battled through until january then things will pick up!

remember Brian Clough....he was not adverse to signing odd choice players and getting the best out of them

Nor was the twitchy Judas Graham. You never know with these things. Highly unlikely, but we could all be proved wrong. I'll just wait to see how he does against a team at least in the same galaxy of ability as the Premier League because with all due respect H&W and Basingstoke aren't.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
